Casa Batllo is an extraordinary work of Gaudi's imagination and ingenuity. You will want a full tour to see all the brilliant details.

Tip: Magic nights at the Casa Batllo take place Tuesday to Sunday from June 18 to Sept. 27 in 2013. If you can go round a day of two before and buy a combination ticket for the day tour and the evening concert you will save money and time. The evening concert is truly magic, including a tour of the mezzanine floor, a complimentary glass of wine or beer and a comfortable seat on the terrace where you can enjoy not only a concert but a delightful audiovisual projection on the wall.

It is the most lovely house I have ever seen. The creativity of Gaudi was exterted to every corner of the building. It was a fantastic adventure in Casa Batllo.

Gaudi. Yes, it's Gaudi. Do you need to say more in Barcelona? I had an almost religious experience watching my lovely partner fondle bits of the building ;)

If you are a fan of Antonio Gaudi you will love Casa Batllo. It is a fabulous fantasy of Gaudi architecture, and the current owner has been kind enough to fully open it to the public. I also rather liked the gift shop, which also seems to have been stocked more thoughtfully than that of La Pedrera. Another positive is that the audio tour guide is included in the basic price. Overall I found Casa Batllo to be a much more comprehensive experience compared to La Pedrera (which admittedly remains in use by commercial and residential tenants), as well as a more unrestrained expression of Gaudi's artistic vision, at least in the eyes of this amateur. While I would never suggest skipping the mad magesty of Sacra da Familia, Casa Botllo does offer a more intimate experience given its smaller size and the fact that it was a family dwelling rather than a cathedral.
