“Not too bad”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Location we thought would be good but was a bit busy as one of the main tourist streets with many cheap and tacky tourist shops which were being run by almost every nationality but Catalan.
The hotel is dated and needs some upgrading, lifts are tiny and if you have any luggage you will have to make several trips to the room as the porters are busy ferrying cases for bus parties. Room was superior room/suite with balcony and annoying automatic blinds that took so long to go up and down we left them down. The room was fine but basic and the bathroom had a great shower but you needed to risk life and limb to get into it as it was in the bath.
The bar in the lobby is mostly unattended as they are busy helping the porters and don't order a drink on the terrace upstairs either as they are not used to it.....perhaps most people opt to go out. Breakfast was included in the rate and was good. However, as with most hotels did little to inspire further exploration of Catalan or local dishes.
Overall not bad but would recommend a hotel off of Ramblas for some peace.

Room Tip: Avoid hotel in high season, opt for quieter less claustrophobic area

we stayed at the rivoli, prior to picking up our cruise ship,we found the staff freindly and helpful, the bed room we had was clean and spacious and had a balcony overlooking la rambla, which we had requested, the morning breakfast was a continental type and we found it more than adequate,we would fully recomend this hotel,in fact we have booked it again for next year. regards kevin, jackie.

Fine and very centrally located hotel. Clean with many facilities and helpful English-speaking staff. Low internet bandwidth: only works late night. Nice and clean bathroom with bathtub and shower. Good supermarket just opposite; open until 10 p.m.

I was in Barcelona for a long weekend alone. The location was just perfect for going about the city.
The room was satisfactory, clean and quiet because it was not located in the front of the hotel, overlooking la Rambla. I think all single rooms are situated in the back.
However, exactly because it was located overlooking an interior courtyard, the natural lighting was poor,if any.
The breakfast buffet was served in a very pleasant room and was quite satisfactory.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room overlooking la Rambla if natural light is important to you. However it m...

We had arranged for a triple room (which is always a risk), but it was quite nice. The third bed was a real bed. There was enough space in the room to accommodate 3 people. The only comment is that there was not places or racks for luggage for 3 people, really only 1 space. We had to use the desk and the end table for the other suitcases. our room did face the street, but the noise did not seem to be a problem as the window was quite thick.

The hotel has a lovely roof top patio that was a great place to have a glass of wine (BYO) and watch the city. As the hotel is right on the Ramblas there were a lot of restaurants and stores right outside the front door.

The hotel was clean, well located and well priced. We did not have breakfast included, so we went next door for breakfast.

Highly recommended, and I would certainly stay here again.

It seems this hotel is also used for Globus tours, but we never had a problem with a mass of people using the elevators at the same time as us.

The location is great, right in the centre of the city and really close to the Metro and hop on hop off bus, but unfortunately that is the only good thing about it. It is meant to be a 4 star hotel, but I have stayed in better 3 star hotels! Definitely not worth the 4 stars.
The room we were given was meant to be a double, but it was barely big enough for 1 person. It needed a 'make over' badly! During our stay we were aware of an awful smell of sewage, so we complained and were moved to another room. This room was much nicer and bigger, unfortunately the bed was so uncomfortable I hardly slept a wink :( The smell was still there and in the end we had to sleep with the balcony doors open all night. Luckily we would spend all day sightseeing, so only had to endure the stench at night time!
The breakfast buffet was average, with a choice of meats, cheese, cereal and bread. The cooked breakfast was a little disappointing though.
All in all it was a great week of sightseeing, but next time I will choose a better hotel!

Our TA recommended this great hotel in Barcelona. It was perfect place to get around and enjoy the Ramblas. The rooms were extremely clean, well priced and included a great breakfast buffet. It was a short walk to the famous market and the Ramblas is THE PLACE to walk and find great restaurants. I would highly recommend this great place

Room Tip: If available the top floor corner with terrace overlooking the Ramblas was a real treat.
