Absolutely perfect service. The staff at the front desk remembered my name from day one. Everyone was incredibly gracious to a fault. I upgraded to a corner, ocean view room (75 euro more) and it was worth every penny. I have stayed in luxury hotels around the world and this is one of my favorites. My traveling companion reserved a room on the "private" floors (special key entry) and the lounge for those floors serves an amazing tapas and wine buffet nightly. The hotel's restaurant is small, but the food is excellent with very attentive service. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. The only drawback to this hotel is that its location, though awsome for beach access, is inconvenient for walking tours and Barcelona taxis are (a) very expensive and (b) the drivers often tend to take one on the most roundabout route in order to run-up the meter.
My only complaint is that the spa, although good, was not of the same calibre as the rest of the hotel. The venue was pretty, but it lacked towels, the hot tub was lukewarm, the sauna seemed to be cool and the treatments I had were OK, but not especially memorable. It's a beautiful spa situated at the top of the hotel and knowing the hotel arts, my experience was probably an off day.

Stayed at the Hotel Arts in January to celebrate out 10th wedding anniversary. We were pleased from the moment it started - all the staff smile and remember your name, but it is definitely worth paying more to stay on the executive floor. The club lounge is great with complimentary food and drink all day. We ended up spending more time there than anywhere else. The location is quite far out - not in the hubub of La Rambla but we preferred that as felt a bit nervous walking around the Barri Gotic at night. Everywhere was no more than a 10 euro taxi ride away and we also did a lot of walking, which is perfect when in Barcelona. We toyed between the boutique hotel experience such as Hotel Neri and having gone to see it when we were there, I am pleased we chose the Hotel Arts as the area felt safer and quieter. Hotel Neri is right next to a nursery backing onto a courtyard and it seemed very hustly and bustly. No complaints about Hotel Arts - everything was done quickly and without fuss and the staff were exceptionally helpful to us. We ate at the hotel restaurants, Bites was great - good food and not too expensive, Arola seems too hyped - the portions were small tapas style, but the staff seem to think they are the most important ones rather than the clients. It wasn't bad, just not as fantastic as it thinks it is. All in all, we were pleased with the Hotel Arts and think it was worth the money as it is expensive. By the way, there is free bottled water in the gym and spa which you can take rather than pay for it from the mini bar!

my brother and i stayed here in march '02. along with hotel caruso ravelo, it's the best placed i've stayed. our room had a view of the olympic village overlooking the sea. marble bath, 3 head'd separate marble shower, and spa like tub. full suite stereo system with bathroom and bed controls. auto blinds/shade controls from bed. the staff was great. even had them tailor a suit and they did a good job. the location is excellent as well. seconds from the beach!

Stayed here in early Feb 06 during a business trip with around 120 colleagues. We all loved it. The hotel is gorgeous, and the food (catered for our conference) was lovely.

What really impressed me, though, was the friendliness of all the staff. Usually very stylish hotels like this have pretty snooty staff, but the people here were just great - so friendly and helpful.

When I come back to Barcelona I will definitely try to stay here, even though it is not very central. It is near the beach, though.

Just returned from the Arts Hotel in Barcelona on a four day business trip. I had a great stay - the hotel and rooms were fab; the plushest hotel I've ever stayed in! The staff were excellent and extremely courteous. Only complaint was that the hotel bar prices were extortionate - but thats the norm with a lot of the big hotel chains.

I stayed in this hotel for work in Jan 05
The room are just amazing. I had twice a room with a view at the sea. However, a view sea/city or even at the marina is very good as well. Anyway if you happen to stay, try to have higher floor.
The staff and service are also amazing.
However, I was very disapointed with Enoteca restaurant. Service was poor and food not amazing for the 80 Euros we paid.
Same for the "bites" restaurant, evenso the bill was cheaper.
One of my colleague was upgraded to a suite (see picture).
Recomanded if you can afford it.

It was a great hotel with a great beachside location. I was slightly disappointed as it had the "Ritz Carlton" brand, and I had better experiences staying at the Four seasons. Overall it had spacious and soft beds. Nice touch on the bathroom with the multiple shower heads.
