Owner description: Casa Mila, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a most unusual building, constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) and declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. Today it is the headquarters of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains. A visit to La Pedrera, landmark building and container, gives us a better understanding and appreciation of architecture and transports us to the period when Antoni Gaudí lived.

“Gaudi Masterpiece”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

No matter how many times you come to Barcelona you have to visit this masterpiece each time. The self-guided tour is great. Starting on the amazing roof and working down through the attic exhibit to the apartment museum it is the classic example of Gaudi at his peak of creativity. The unique organic shapes of the window/doors and the iron work through out is fun to see and experience. What a creative genius! Do not miss this World Heritage site.

“Great archiTecture!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

I really recommend you to visit casa mila! It is an excellent building, with great architecture. Gaudi is the symbol of barcelona (and the barcelona fc, ofcourse!) and you have to visit also palau guel etc.. Although i had great experiences in barcelona, i admired the buildings and gaudi's architecture.. I was too tired of gaudi.. Everywhere you go, a gaudi's building, or a gaudi's frog is in front of you!!!! :) pls be ready for overdose!!!!!

“Gaudi: an imagination run riot”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

In the Passeig de Gracia so very central, La Pedrera is one of Gaudi's great masterpieces. You stand and gape at the outside of the apartment block which conjures up images of waves and seaweed (the balconies). You go into the elegant interior ( don't miss the magnificent iron front gate) and you are taken up to the roof. I had seen the photos but I still wasn't prepared. Gaudi loved roofs and this one is spectacular - the chimneys are known as 'the witch-scarers': I thought of stormtroopers in Sat Wars (I am sure Gaudi didn't !!). They stand there isn the sun like soldiers with visors. Amazing. Then down through a fine collection of furniture to El Pis, the fully furnished Art Nouveau apartment, a wonderful opportunity to see how people really lived. You have got to go and it's on the ArticketBCN (30 euros) which takes you to six other museums for less than half the normal price of entry.

“Adorable and shocking”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Be wowed by this amazing apartment - and shocked by the contrast with the incongruity of the clothes of the time also on display.
