We walked all the way up to the top of parc guell to find it was closed no email sent as we had booked tickets in advance no one at any of the entrance to inform you on what to do just a yellow sign in Spanish saying it was closed due to the weather so of it's raining or windy it will not be open so please watch out for this

Dear 180rachaelf,

We area sorry to hear that you were not able to visit us yesterday.

Due the strong gusts of winds we were experiencing, the Barcelona City Council decided to close all the parks and green areas of Barcelona for safety reasons as an extraordinary situation. As soon as we were notified, we published the information on our website and all social media.

Today, since the weather worsened, the situation repeated itself.

However, normally, when it is windy or it rains, the Park remains open as usual.

For real time information, please do not hesitate to check our website and social media.

We hope to have you as our visitor again in the future! And thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

Best regards!

Had the privilege to visit Gaudi's masterpirece last November. Beautiful architecture and mosaic..Very Whimsical ,reminds one of the chocolate hse from Hensel & Gretel fairtytale. Bought skip the line tickets online which includes a free shuttle bus from town centre .

Pretty crowded even on a weekday, full of tourists , which makes it very very difficult to get a good photo without someone photobombing you in the background. Patience is vital. There are staff members all around who are very helpful and courteous.

We took the free shuttle bus back to the final stop (hardly 10 minute ride away) , from where we had a pleasant walk to Sagrada Familia.

Get off the HOHO bus nearby and you still have to climb quite a hill to reach the entrance, but once in, you'll enjoy this park. There are free areas to visit, or you can pay to see some areas that include more of the Gaudi sculpture. We took the free route this time, but still enjoyed the park and the lovely views of the city. Lots of areas for photos.

We had rented bicycles for they day to explore the sights of Barcelona. Needless to say this was one workout because Park Guell is located on top of a hill. ( electric bikes would have been so much easier, but weren't available) There are bike racks available. We did not pay for any attractions, we opted to visit the outer area of the park which is free. For us that was enough. The grounds are beautiful and fun to explore. There are lots of vendors selling all kinds of trinkets and souvenirs at every turn.We felt like we had stepped into the pages of a Dr Seuss book. We're glad we made the effort to bike up there.

We reserved an English speaking tour and very pleased with the one hour tour. Very nice head set so easy to hear the guide. Finding the meeting place is a little tricky. Had to ask several people before we found the meeting spot. We then spent another 2-3 hours wondering on our own. You have to queue to get into the guard house but very good to see. We also paid a separate entrance fee to see the model home where Gaudi lived for 20 years.
