Owner description: Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

Park Guell is quite far out of the city but you can take the subway system there and then walk the rest. There are escalators going up to the park as well as it is quite a steep walk up. The park is lovely to stroll around and there is so much to see! Guadi famous lizard is extremely popular so you may have to queue to get a photo. There is a nice café beside it and I would recommend stopping here for a beer before you head back down!

We'd heard that Guell Park was a must see before we got to Barcelona so we set aside half a day and caught the bus up from Placa Catalunya. Even though it took over 30 minutes it was an easy trip and the bus dropped us at the gates. Entry to the park is free but it now costs €7 to get into the monumental area which is the focal point of the park. The ticket has an entry time. You must line up for entry at that time. The gatehouse has a museum that also requires lining up and waiting as they limit the number of people inside. If you're interested in historical facts it's worth a look but there's nothing else in there so I didn't think it was worth the 40 minute wait. For the least waiting time head there immediately you enter the area as that's when the line is shortest.

The rest of the monumental area is interesting for its quirkiness, fascinating for its design features and you get great views from the top. It was worth a look but if it's Gaudi's works you want to see pay the extra money and visit Casa Batllo.

This is an incredible park, it's so beautiful and peaceful. Make sure you explore, the park has a lot of things to see. Most of it is free, except for a small portion displaying some of Gaudi's work, with entrance fee of 8 euros. It's a nice section, but the park is beautiful without it as well. Either way, it's a must see!

One of "the must see" in Barcelona but it's pretty hard to get there by public transport, definitely worth a visit ( but you need half a day)
