Owner description: Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

The park is very large and we got very lost, however, hiking around the park is gorgeous and I very much enjoyed my afternoon there!

“A Must See Destination”

The design is magnificent and definitely imagitive. It give a new meaning of creativity. One could spend days to appreciate what Gaudi had done for this park. I had been back twice and I am not tired of it.

“Another beautiful Gaudi attraction”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

From what I had read in guidebooks, I was under the impression that there were Gaudi works sporadically spread around the park. However there is not, and the main attraction is the front of the park; unfortunately, there were too many tourists!

Still, the park is exceptional; the shops and the salamander is obviously right there, but then you enter a haven of pillars and stunning ceiling decor which you cannot mistake for anyone else but Gaudi. Wander up to the seating area and there is stunning mosaic work everywhere overlooking Barcelona.

Guell park is stunning with various paths to take (and you quickly learn that a lot of the tourists don't bother with the hilly park) so it becomes a lovely relaxing walk around seeing local dog walkers, and stunning skyline views of the city. A great afternoon.

“OK”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Again if you like Gaudi but for me the inside of the Sagrada F. was his finest achievement - the rest left me a bit cold.
