Owner description: Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

We went there through the Hop on Hop off bus and had to walk up a steep hill (about 500 mts.) to reach the park. On the way there are a lot of nice souvenirs shops. When we reached there it was complete chaos. Lots of people and no directions. Though we found our way but then didn't understand what to do/ see there. If you love walking then probably you have lots to do there, otherwise you may struggle. There is a nice seating area from where you get an aerial view of Barcelona. However, beware of the pick pockets there and take care of your belongings.

“Masterpiece”

Amazing is the only word to describe this park. We really enjoyed just strolling around at our own pace admiring the design, best of all it is FREE to visit.

“Beautiful, Unique place.. Hope for good weather, it is a park.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

The place can get packed with people so the earlier you go the better. But even when it is packed, people still move, and there is plenty of free space to roam around.. Listen to the local musicians play the harp or guitar.. Take a camera for plenty of photos, and capture a great memory.

“Feel the gaudi work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

Park gaudi is just awesome although we got a long walk from the train station to the park plus walking uphill is just tiring. Not many stall along the way, or else is expensive. We still manage to grab a watermelon when we almost reach. And ya, tips: toilet is free in park guell. The gaudi works is amazing. You can have a brisk walk at the walk, lazing about if you got much of time. Worth a visit!
