This is a nice bar to have a drink in and despite looking it, it is not expensive. Large glass windows and tea lights give a warm, romantic ambiance. I recommend the nachos with melted cheese and guacamole and cocktails are v reasonable. A good bar for watching the goings on in the street which is full of pedlars trying to sell tat and every now and then being flushed away by the police-hilarious. After this wander down the alley opposite (carrer de reuric) and do a bar crawl to the three bars on the left. 1st is shut on a mon but is ridiculously cheap and serves great cocktail shots; then Sugar which is cheap and v strange, then Sub rosa which was such a great bar. The complete opposite to Schilling but you have to visit. The barman mixes the best cocktails we had in Barcelona and until 11pm they are €4!! Try the chilli mojito and the bloody Mary if you like savoury; best bloody Mary I've ever had. You have to go to the loo here which is papered in some interesting pics (?!?!)

Nice atmosphere and lighting in this bar and it is a welcome change from the many, many (pretend) Irish bars along this busy street. Worth a visit.

After our dinner yesterday we passed by this bar to bar a drink.
The design of the place attracted us so we got in.
We ordered Sangria del Cava and to our surprise they don't serve it! The waiter told us that he prefers it himself but it's not present.
To our surprise as well, they don't serve one cup of Sangria, you can only order 1L or 3/4 L so my partner has to share the Sangria that was average and not exceptional for a local place in Barcelona.
At the end when we were paying, the credit card machine wasn't working.
I hope my comment will help you if you are searching a good bar to have a drink in it.

We always come back here. The street is bustling, noisy, full of people shoving club night leaflets under your nose etc but this is a calm oasis. Lively wine and decent food menu to keep you going. Other reviews mentioned it being a gay place. We're gay and never actually noticed. Totally mixed crowd, young and old. Nice window seats. Staff are a bit short/kurt and not friendliest (a smile might actually kill them) but no problem. Really recommend. Warm atmosphere inside with dim lighting and torn wallpaper. I'll always return!
