Owner description: The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

This place was so extraordinary and beautiful. It is worth getting the tickets online though if you don't want to wait in the crazy line! Also, get the audio guide tour, it was worth the money! If you go to Barcelona you HAVE to go here and see this amazing work of art and architecture!! It took us about two hours to go through, but honestly I could have stayed there much longer just gazing at the beauty and light that is created inside!

Too much to see in one day. The sculpture is complex with lots of white doves, intricately carved portrait of the sacred family. Next to a park.

Im not normally into walking around churches but i was completely converted after walking around this one. I was in awe of the buliding itself and the detail and sheer size of everything. The stained glass windows were wonderful and i found myself really exploring every nook and cranny, well worth a visit!

Incredible structure that must be seen. However, it was very, very busy and hot in august, perhaps it would be more pleasurable in the spring or fall

Beautiful surroundings and fantastic architecture. We visited around the Sagrada Familia as the queue was too long by the time we arrived. You`re recommended to arrive before 9am if you want to visit inside the building.
Simply stunning from outside(and bet even better from inside).
Definitely worth a visit if you`re visiting Barcelona.
