Owner description: The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

The light in the church was fantastic.
The was a queue to the attraction, but the waitingtime was worth the time we stood waiting

Definitely a must see and take the audio guide as its just too much to take in. The que was quite long but its definitely worth the wait. The elevator to the top is also fun!

“Absolutely spectacular! A must see while in Barca!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

This place is amazing! I have been all throughout Europe and this is my favorite church, period. It is so unlike any other church I have ever seen. Must do's when visiting: 1. Make sure you see both sides, one side is much older, 2. Cough up the cash and go inside, I've never seen a outrageous line to get in and while still under construction the inside is stunning. It looks like a forest inside, 3. Take the elevator to the top to get great views and a great experience. I would also recommend coming back in the evening and eating outside on Avenue Gaudi while enjoying spectacular views la sagrada familia lit up. However you see it la sagrada familia is a must do while in Barcelona.

“Very Interesting”

Very different modernist church. Unlike anything, I've seen before. The best thing you can do is take the sightseeing bus and go through all Barcelona.
