Owner description: The Museu Picasso in Barcelona is a key reference for understanding the formative years of Pablo Picasso. The genius of the young artist is revealed through the 4,251 works that make up the permanent collection. Furthermore, the Museu Picasso, opened in 1963, also reveals his deep relationship with Barcelona: an intimate, solid relationship that was shaped in his adolescence and youth, and continued until his death. The Museum is very rich in regard to work from the formative years in the life of the artist; it is practically exhaustive up to the Blue Period. The Museum also houses an important representation of works from 1917, and the series Las Meninas (1957) as well as a comprehensive print collection.

The Picasso museum is hidden away behind the Ramblas/ Barrio Gotigo and you could miss the entrance if you didnt know where it was. Inside is a collection of Picasso paintings etc....that has rarely been seen elsewhere so a treasure to see. It is quite a small museum but it is packed with his paintings and sculpures. If you are an avid Picasso fan you will love this place as it offers a wide range of paintings done throughout the different stages of his life

We decided to go to the museum very last minute, an hour or so before it closed. No line, hardly anyone in the museum & a great location for eating after. I loved how the museum led you through room by room, no wondering which way to go next or seeing the same thing twice. It is a small museum, in a lovely building. I did not do the audio tour & was finished in about an hour. The gift shop has an amazing collection of goods for purchase. I really enjoyed it!

The Picasson Museum is located in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona and is lovely small art museum. The artworks were donated by Picasso to a friend who integrated several houses into a spacious relaxing museum. The collection provides samples of many of Picasso's artistic phases and apparently represents the artistic legacy that Picasso wanted to display to the public. There is a free 1.5 hour English language tour on Sunday mornings and the guide is excellent. She clearly was an art student and excellent at explaining Picasso's techniques and themes.

The Museum can be toured at a leisurely pace in about two hours and is worth the trip.

We had read reviews talking about the large queues so we made sure we got there early 10am ish. The museum was pretty quiet just a few tourists and school groups.
We had the audio/visual phone things which were really useful and well organised. My partners did break half way causing an alarm to go off which was pretty embarrassing!!
Great range of art, well explained for novices like us too.
The building is very impressive too.
Definatly reccommend

Definitely worth a visit and located in a nice area of Barcelona where there is a lot else to see and do. This museum gets very busy and were there in low season. Book your tickets online in advance so you know you will be able to get in and don't have to stand in line for tickets when you get there. They offer audi tours in different languages but you need to pay for this.
