Try and eat at one of the tapas stalls at the back of the market if you can get a seat.
Great for photos and presents.

Busy and bustling local food market just off La Rambla.

We took our time walking round all the different stalls, soaking up the atmosphere, different smells and vibrant colours before sampling and buying various foodstuffs and taking them away for a picnic lunch.

Fresh fruit smoothies cost from 1 euro, delicious deep fried cod balls 3 euro for three (very filling), olives from around 60 cents per bag and various breads from around 1 euro.

For anyone who is a bit sensitive - beware there are sheep heads, skinned rabbits, brains etc on show in the butchers stalls.

If you want to see the fishmongers avoid a Monday as there are only a few open on that day.

This market is just off La Rambla. It is a foodie paradise. Spices, fruit, vegetables, fish, jambon, etc etc.. Photo ops galore. Purchased some saffron and paella spice mix. Packed with tourists and locals at lunch hour. Various food stands for lunch. ANOTHER MUST SEE IN BARCELONA.

What a place! For foodies everywhere this is a must. Granted it's usually full of visitors to the city and takes an age to get round but check out the butchers, sellers of cured meat, the fruiterers and the fishmongers in the central area. There are quite a few tapas bars within the area of the restaurant and it's a very atmospheric place to eat

If you wanna feel the real flavours, colors and tastes of Barcelona, visit the market Boqueria!!!
It is an amazing place with hundreds of goods
everything you wanna buy, can be tasted with no problem.
We bought lots of the famous Catalonian chocolate, good pieces of jamon, olive oil of extra class, fantastic honey with pieces of fruits in the bottle, cheese of various sorts, and sausages!!!!
Boqueria is a real paradise for those who value good food and like traditional markets.
But be careful of your pockets and bags!! The place is always overcrowded so it is a paradise not only for visitors but also the thieves
