Very nice experience walking La Rambla from The Maremagnum Mall to La Plaza Catalunya. Good cafes and restaurant, a bunch of tourist and street art expression everywhere. Stop by Amorinos Cafe and get one of their hand crafted gelatto or a waffle with an espresso.

We walked it in the afternoon, we enjoyed the market, but liked the quality of the shoppes on the narrow side streets. We would not go back. With all the attention about pick pocketing, we were very side tracked worrying about that. I know it's a problem everywhere, but here it was particularly distracting because of the crowds.

My hotel was walking distance from La Rambla so I walked up and down it every day. Before I went I ready reviews about this location and immediately became worried about being pickpocketed. I did not experience this at all! Just keep your belongings close and always be aware; especially if people are too close to you for no reason. There are a lot of stores and restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating. Please don't forget to see the side streets as I enjoyed those more! There is also a train station along La Rambla in case you want to go further. If you're near this location you should definitely visit but if not, don't worry...you're not missing anything :).

Fun way to spend a couple of hours. All the souvenir shops carried the same things, priced too high, for the quality, and all over the map but, if you found something you liked, there was a lot of room for negotiation.

Many years ago I visited Las Ramblas and it was the pulsating heart of Barcelona. It was the place to be and enjoy pure Catalonian food, spirit and hospitality. Today it is a nice promenade but full of mostly low quality shops, bars and hotels, in their vast majority foreign owned. Some of the old spirit can be found in the bars and restaurants in the Rambla of Catalunya, across the Catalunya Square, but not in Las Ramblas anymore.
