“Prepare to walk”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

This place is so deep - with history, hidden alleys, and great places to eat. Got lost several times but somehow manage to get back where I needed to be.

“a warren of artisan shops.”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

an area full of character with lots of small specialist shops-especially clothes and shoes ,bars ,coffee shops. reminded me of Venice. Some of the buildings are run down and the shutters on the shops are full of graffiti, but it didnt feel threatening and is obviously on the up. Some nice plazas and grand buildings and just head in the general direction you want to go and a maze of alleys will get you there eventually.

“Take it slow”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

Just wonderful for walking around aimlessly. Street art is really nice. Shops are cute but kinda the same all over the place. Restaurants, cafés and bars all over the place. Make sure not to only visit the ones on the bigger streets, lots of tiny places waiting to be discoverd.
Keep an eye out for thieves, keep bags in front and over your pocket to discourage them!

“Feels like Old Europe”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

This is the oldest part of the city. We agreed that we didn't feel like we were in Europe until we went to this part of town. Great food, shopping and old winding narrow streets. You can cover this part in an hour or two if you're in a hurry and longer if you grab a good meal. If there are cruise ships in the ports, this area will most certainly be crowded.

“Good Food and shopping”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

This is a very fun district in Barcelona. It is full of wonderful restaurants and tapa's diners. There are a lot of outdoor cafes for people watching and great shops, very enjoyable area.
