I stayed in the Gothic Quarter a week and loved exploring all the little streets and squares and was in awe of the amazing buildings. Wandering through this area is a great way to see how modern life goes on within the ancient buildings. You'll see interesting shops, art galleries, small restaurants and surprising contemporary street sculptures. Slow down and take the time to really look at the detail on all the buildings, the windows, gargoyles, balconies. I didn't know where to aim my camera as there was so much I wanted to capture. Get off the crowded touristy Rambla and into the much more interesting and unique Gothic Quarter.
