Dont miss this restaurant when traveling to Barcelona! Tapeo not only had a great wine selection, but the food was fabulous! Every tapa dish we ordered was excellent. As we watched other dishes walk by us, we had moments of "lets try that"! The service was good and they were quick to keep the tapas coming. Its a tiny restaurant in the Barri Gotic, right behind the Santa Maria Church. We ate there on a Sunday night about 830-9pm and it was packed. Highly recommend making reservations in advance - which we did.

A small tapas restaurant in the Gothic quarter, quite easy to find, just behind the Santa Maria Church.
This really is fantastic, we went to three tapas places and this was by far the best. We didn't book and arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 we were seated opposite the chefs.
We ordered fried monkfish, pratas bravas, salmon salad, aubergines and tomato bread. We also had two glasses of rose cava and two beers. The bill was 32 euro! Amazing value! Everything was fantastic, especially the aubergine dish it was just beautiful. The service was great, we couldn't fault it. The majority of the customers were locals which is always a good sign.
You must go here, there is reason it is voted the best in Barcelona!

This is by far the best food we've ever had in europe! We had 4 dishes and all of them were delicious, we'll be back again for more.

A small restaurant in the El Born district that fills up fast! We sat at the counter and enjoyed not only the tapas and the wine and beer but also the friendly back and forth with the service personnel. The tapas are the best not only for quality but for the large selection. Something for all tastes! If you don't want to be disappointed we suggest a reservation. You won't leave hungry and it's reasonable !

Picked it as it was well-rated on TA and located in El Born where we were visiting that day. The place is really modern and really nice and the staff were also very polite and helpful. With background music giving it a trendy feel, it was all in alll a very enjoyable atmosphere. So, we tried the following and comment as follows:

- Cava sangria: made with white sparkling wine - simply delicious!

- Oilve skewer - first off, it must be noted that we did not expect the anchovies with it and are not fans but they were tasty nonetheless. Of course, expect a fish taste (of which we are not fans)!

- salmon potato salad with wasabi - simply delicious! I never thought that I'd rate potatoe salad as excellent but another TA reviewer had recommended it and my wife wanted to try it. We were NOT disappointed and we also recommend it. (Nice thing: they changed our plates such that the wasabi did not taint the taste of the next dish!)

- Iberian sausage and beans - one of the chef's recommendations. again, simply delicious! The simple sausage was cooked just right in that it was cut up with the beans but still, was not too dry and the sauce complemented it perfectly.

- Octopus and artichokes - we love octopus but on this one, though everything was well-cooked, we thought that the marriage of octopus and artichokes was so-so but since it was fresh and well-cooked, we enjoyed it nonetheless.

- for dessert, we had crème brulée which is hard to describe as it was different from the French variety in that it was very fluffy with a bit of cinnamon added to it - just try it! You'll get the full taste...

Now from the above, you could conclude that it is just an OK place, but that would be wrong because the quality of the food and the way that it was prepared makes it a notch above many other places we've tried. We thus recommend it!
