Owner description: The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona. Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

My husband and I sailed out of Barcelona on a last minute cruise in the Fall of 2012. We booked Barcelona Taste as something different to do on our overnight in Barcelona. The tour was the highlight of our trip!

A huge thank you to Jo and Joe who both turned up to be our guides. We were paired with a group of 6 women from Norway. What fun we had! Jo and Joe compliment each other so well. They are both from the U.S. and are great friends who decided to start the Taste together. Both are witty and very knowledgeable about their adopted city.

Thank you!

We hade two nights in Barcelona and spent the first one from 7:00 to 10:00 PM plus with Joe from Barcelona Taste. What a great guy and did he know his stuff. If you want to get a feel for the non-touristy watering holes of the Gottica (think Soho in New York or Le Marais in Paris)... where in fact you will be the only tourists, then the Barcelona Taste Tour is for you, Several bodegas, a cheese shop extraordinaire....don't even think about dinner afterwards. Everything is included in the price
This was one of the most fun eating excursions my wife and I have had ANYWHERE. I have developed an extreme fondness for Catalan vermouth w/ a spritz!
One final word. We weren't sure what to do the next day, where to go and most importantly...what to eat. Joe sent us an email that kept us happy for the rest of our stay...plus I was interested in Barcelona art scene. He sent us four galleries and addresses which were spot on
This is a really nice guy, very sophisticated about food and the secret ins and outs of this magic city.... TAKE THIS TOUR

it was truly a good introduction to tapas but I really had better degustation with some local friends around Gracia neighborhood. These friends also recommended me other typical bars around gothic area that I think should have been included in The Barcelona Taste.

We had a wonderful time being led around the Gothic Quarter at night by our guide, Joe. We went into four different establishments - all of which appeared to have big local followings (always a good sign!) - over the course of 3 hours. Joe was great about accommodating people's dietary restrictions and making suggestions for other traditional Barcelona foods we should check out. As an added bonus, the following morning (after carefully listening to our preferences and considering our remaining time in the city) we got an e-mail from Joe detailing his top choices based on our tastes. We used his guide as a roadmap for the remainder of our time in the city. This tour definitely works well for couples traveling to the city for the first time or for those of you who wish to see a different side of Barcelona than one described in guidebooks or online blogs.

We spent a very enjoyable time with Jo. Forget the Ramblas and head for the tapas in the Gothic quarter. Great company, food and recommendations meant we got the best from our short stay.
