We were staying at H1898 so for our first night we ate here.. WOW. The food is delicious, Prawns, Scallops, Fish, Pizzas, it's all there and very tasty! The view is incredible too!

On the 7th floor of Hotel 1898 on La Rambla, you will find an attractive terrace with a lot of promise. Panoramic view of Barcelona, friendly staff, comfortable seating with plenty of plants and shades.

Arrived around 21.00 for a relaxing drink and supper. The menu is reasonably priced and enough variety to choose from. So we decided to share marinated tuna cubes to start which tasted a bit like sashimi that had been sitting in the fridge overnight. I then had their Burger 1898 with foie and mushrooms, which turned out to be a whopping 80g burger with a fried quail's egg on top. A chicken egg would have been too top heavy for the miniscule patty underneath. Given the little burger also contained chopped up foie and mushrooms, it wouldn't have satisfied a hungry 10 year old. My friend's 'roast beef' turned out to be a piece of filet steak cooked in a mini casserrole dish.

The wine list was astonishingly expensive for the selection of average wines on offer. 35 - 40 euros per bottle that one can buy for 5 euros in a supermarket is quite outrageous. We ordered a glass each of red wine but it was so bad we had to ask the waiter to change.

Waiters were friendly and helpful but not properly trained. After the starter of raw tuna, we were expected to use the same knife and fork for the meat course. Again we had to ask them to change.

Will we go back? Probably not.

Plan to stop by here at least once while in Barcelona for the most beautiful views of the city. While expensive, you can order Cava and one tapas and still enjoy this great spot!

The rooftop bar offered some good tapas and drinks. The service was not great but the view was amazing!

This isn't cheap but the mojitos are fantastic and the tapas was delicious. (Two mojito and two tapas Euro 44). The view from the top of the terrace is lovely and it is somewhere to relax away from the busy street below. La Rambla can get manic. Hop into the hotel and there is a lift straight to the top. So glad we read the guidebook and did it.
