I read about the Runner Bean Tours by chance on Tripadvisor while looking up options of how to explore Barcelona city differently. And I was standing at Palau Guell alone marvelling the creation of Gaudi when I saw a group emerge and a highly enthusiastic guide explain to the group about the history of the building and about Gaudi. I requested the guide to allow me to join her group and she readily agreed.
Over the next 2 - 3 hours, she took us around many of Gaudi's creations and spent a lot of time explaining about how the architecture of each of those buildings must have evolved and also gave a great insight into Gaudi's life and the challenges he faced in execution of his designs. We ended the trip at Sagrada Familia where she spent a lot of time taking us around all the four sides of the building and explaining what the different elements and sides signify.
This walk was perhaps the highlight of my Barcelona trip and I would recommend Runner Bean Tours to any tourist visiting Barcelona.More
