One of my favourite restaurtants in Barcelona! All the products aresuper fresh, highest class and coocked to perfection. Don't expect shi shi and no molecular stuff. Here you can eat real products served by passionat people! The wine selection is also great. Hope to be back soon

“Awesome local tapas place!!!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This is an absolute gem of a local tapas joint. If you are expecting English menus and tourist buses, this is not for you. Superbly fresh produce ( we sat next to the shrimp that arrived fresh from the market that we ate 15 mins later) , menu in Catalan that changes according to what produce is available

Had great time in broken Spanish and English with the the staff and owners. Wild
Mushrooms with egg and foie gras, duck egg with white truffle, grilled beef, seafood stew with ham and white beans, salted grilled shrimp, fresh fig with orange liqueur and homemade ice cream, melt in your mouth Iberian ham.

We ate there twice on our visit. Wines were excellent and I still think about the food today. All local only - we were the only tourists there both times

“Great Food”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Hard to find for our taxi man he dumped us on the opposite side of the dual carriageway, but easy when you know not to go over it in the first place. There are some taxi drivers with not good knowledge of the city. Booked and you need to not a lot of seats and was fully booked and turning people away all night. Superb light crisp bread with olive oil and tomatoe. Black board menu which was translated to us by the owners daughter so very Catalan. Excellent selection, fresh very well cooked and presented traditional food. They expect you to stay all night as their clientel is mainly locals. It's tapas, eat and share the dishes. Great.

“Good food - Expensive - Average Service”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

A somewhat charming local place with mostly locals or Spanish-speaking foreigners. I had a really good clam casoulet. Everything was written on the board in Spanish with no English translation, but it is reasonably easy to figure things out with the help of a dictionary and they seem to speak some English.

The main problem with this place other than the slightly unfriendly service is the cost/value for money. For what I ate a starter, main dish and a couple of beers, I paid the equivalend of $60 which is ridiculous.

“Good quality but completely overpriced”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Nothing to say about quality, simply the best. But prices are an abuse. We had:
Two portions of "pa amb tomaquet" bread with tomato squeezed and olive oil, 9 euros!!! (C'mon it's just bread!). The "Cap i pota" was excelent, nothing to say against it, but the grilled octopus was just a small piece of octopus on a base made of potato puree. It was great and savorous but such a small portion was ridiculous. We also had the "ous estrellats" which had nothing to do with what the "ous estrellats" are: (fried potatoes with fried eggs and iberic spanish ham), but they were good.
We had to wait more than 20 minutes for the "alambre", the last thing we ordered.
It's a shame that a restaurant with such a good quality abuses so much with prices. There are lots of places in Barcelona where you can eat well at a more reasonable price. I liked it, but I won't come back.
