“Worth the walk”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

This hotel is a little off the beaten track but well worth the walk or train, taxi or bus! The accommodation is much better than the price would suggest and the food is good too. The staff are professional , helpful and courteous and I can't wait to go back

Room Tip: We had one overlooking a beautiful cemetery, no really it was! And no chance of any noise from there...

The room was nice and clean. Only down side was there was no mini bar. Apart from that nice room,

Getting into the city was easy.5 min walk to the station.

The breakfast at the hotel was amazing!
Great range of food. Defo worth the money.

Over all great hotel. Would defo come back.

Me and my partner had a great stay

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for the Grand Prix it was so close to the metro link and the beach , the hotel itself is spotless , rooms are modern and very clean yes you can see a graveyard but it didn't bother us or the couple we traveled with people forget to mention you can also see the sea from some rooms. Staff at the hotel are all very helpful and friendly, we liked this hotel so much we have booked again for this year

Hotel is of a good standard, clean rooms nice food and very close to metro station's to the city just take the l4 to urqinaona and then l1 to Catalunya and that's it. The staff here is what makes it so enjoyable there friendly, kind and so helpful would definitely go back.

We had booked a cruise with NCL in January which included two nights room only stay at the Hotel 4 Barcelona, we had one night before the cruise and one on our return. We upgraded on our first night at a cost 20 euros which entiltled us to a free mini bar (only pepsi, water and beer), extra toiletries and bath robes. We also paid extra for the breakfast which was ok but nothing special. Being January it was cold in the evenings and the hotel is quite remote regarding restaurants unless you fancy a McDonalds or a sea front cafe type place. We opted to go out around the back of the Hotel where we jumped on a no 14 bus which takes you to the busier areas including the Marina, Las Ramblas and plenty of eating places. I am a smoker so on our return we took a standard smoking room on the 3rd floor, room 307. The room was lovely, no smokey smell and had a nice view. We decided on our 2nd night to eat in the Hotel but the food was not all that good.

The hotel staff are very nice and Barcelona is a beautiful place. I would visit again but would prefer to stay closer to the night life and restaurants.

I found taxis to be expensive here, the cost to join our ship at the port was 20 euros each way and Airport/Hotel/Airport was 45 euros each way.

Word of warning re theft in Barcelona. One of our party had their hand luggage stolen from their side whilst checking in at Hotel reception.

Room Tip: 20 euro upgrade not worth it

We found this Hotel very clean and comfortable.
It's a little out of town but if you are going to Barcelona for a tourist trip it's good.
Firstly the touristic bus tours have three lines and one ends 50 yrds from the hotel.
These tours are really worth while as you can get on or off anywhere along route for about 24 euros per person per day or cheaper for two days approx 34 euros each.
We would reccomend two days as thier is so much to see. It's an easy system and well worth it.
Getting back to the Hotel it's about 10 mins walk for the beach and you can walk into La Rambler in another 15 mins which is the centre of things.
However the view from our window was of a rather large graveyard but we didn't go to look out of the window. The roomservice was good and the staff were friendly.
We had a bit of an incident as the people checking in before us had thier hand luggage stolen from under our noses in the reception. But this is happening all over Spain and everyone warns you to be extra vigilant.
overall we found this hotel to be in a good position and a cheaper option.

Lovely hotel. Very modern. Only 5 minute walk from the beach and Llacuna metro. (Metro is the easiest form of transport there). We upgraded our room to a superior room for 20euros per night. We got a free mini bar that only stocks a can of Pepsi, some water and some beer and also had bath robes. However, the view from our room wasn't that great! Unfortunately our flight home was cancelled due to the snow. Checking back in at 2am wasn't a problem at all, luckily there is always someone on reception! This time we had the standard room, which had exactly the same view as a superior room; just minus the bath robes and a can of fizzy drink. So having spent time in both superior and standard rooms, I can confirm that it is definitely not worth the money to upgrade! Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi is a bit temperamental at times. Overall, a lovely stay at Hotel 4 Barcelona.

Room Tip: Having stayed in both superior and standard rooms, I can confirm that it is definitely not worth the...
