“Mr Skoyles”
Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Went for a last minute meal late on a Wednesday night, the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful in translating the menu for us, as only a few of us spoke very limited English.
The seafood was exquisite, the bread was fresh and delicious, the frittata was really tasty and the sangria hit the spot.

My only downside was the asparagus, which I suspect may have been tinned?? The rest of the veg dishes were great though!

“Great tapas and good service- came back twice for dinner”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

the staff was polite and indulgent to us non-Spanish speaking English people. We loved it so much we made it there twice over 6 nights. by far the best dinner meal we had in the area. the prices were very reasonable. Went with our family with older teens - everyone was treated well. anchovies were excellent, as was the cataylan bread, lamb chops and molten cheese....yum!

“Catalan Classic”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

I was about to give 4 out of 5 to this placed, but then I changed my mind:
the fifth point is an encouragement not to change things! It is refreshing to find such a place just a few steps from the Sagrada Familia in a city which is full with tourist traps!
Someone here is complaining about the lack of an english menu,
while for me that is positive and reassuring..
Anyhow, unless you want to try something in particular, I suggest you take the mixed starter with cold cuts and llescas (very big toasted bread slices) and some meat afterwards. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is pleasantly old-fashioned and quietly elegant.

“Surly service”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

They came with the kids for lunch. The menu is large, but only in Spanish. The wish to see the English menu, the waiter offered to help with the translation. They waited until the waiter cleared, then started trying to use it to translate the menu. Remember that for the dishes presented - it was impossible. The more that two adults are not very fond of meat, and two children had to choose something simple without pepper, tomatoes and seasonings. As a result, and not being able to understand each other with the waiter, we decided to find another place. After that, the waiter allowed himself to express displeasure with the fact that we were taking his time. Surprisingly no place in the tourist menus in English.

“Brilliant lunch”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We visited for a late lunch after visiting the Sagrada Familia, the staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is great too. It had as many Spanish patrons as it did tourists which to us is always a good sign. Get chatting to the Roamanian waiter, he's a star!
