“great stay”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

stayed her as a couple in jan 2012 for 11 nights, the rooms were small with to much storage space which was not needed for us but great room, cant really say my room was cleaned every day had to go down to laundry to was towels but great service from reception got lot of information and free maps. best thing was the food and cheap to as well loved the drink machine, wasn't in the room much but was great to have the kitchen and lounge at end of corridor which we used to watch TV our second room ;) and in jan was cold to use the pool but it was nice to go up there at night time with hot drink ;) loved our stay and looking forward to coming again.

I've stayed in melon district twice, once alone and once with my boyfriend, and both times I really enjoyed it. Its alll very modern and up to date - computers free of use in the reception, card-entry and exit which is easier to carry around as a girl than a big key, high-rise houses with basic rooms inside that are again very modern, with a small but clean bathroom and TV, as well as well-stocked and very modern kitchens with a big tv and nice views on the top floors. The best part about this place is however that every house has a ROOFTOP POOL... thats super clean and modern, but in peak summer times a bit small for all the people who are chilling up there. Its fun, because you can lay on the deck, enjoy the amazing views, and see other visitors laying on their decks on either side of you. Location wise its only a short walk from the beach, and very close to the underground station - all in all a great stay, would happily stay here again!

Room Tip: top floors have amazing views!

The hotel is perfectly located - you can get to the center or to the beach in no time. Subway and tram stations are right by the entrance. The rooms are cleaned once a week - if you'd like it more frequent - it's for a fee. The breakfast is better in a cafe outside so I would not suggest buying it. No kettle in the kitchen. Wi-fi does not always work in the room. Due to the price this is a hotel which attracts students who are rather loud so take it into account when choosing.

Room Tip: Average rooms are not spacious.

If you're going to visit a city, and your expectations are not the stars, but to have a clean place where to stay after of whole day of walking in the city, this is the place. Little room with beds, a bathroom and that's it. The staff is very helpful and nice. The little restaurant at the ground floor has nice food, simple but tasty. The prices are more than OK for a city like Barcelona. The hotel is full with young people. The only negative thing (what I need to mention that is not the hotel's fault) is that, if you have the bad luck and you have Party neighbours, and you're not a good sleeper you'll be angry. As conclusion I'd say that gladly I'd choose next time this place as well.
P.S. every building has a swimming pool at the top, if the weather is good, you can have nice swimming sessions during the day and night as well.

This a good base for a few nights in Barcelona, as we did. I would not want to stay much longer than that though.
The room was comfortable, and clean. There was an issue with the drainage in the shower when we got there, but it was sorted as soon as we reported it. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms do not have wifi access though. It is available in public areas, but the rooms only have a wired internet connection.

This is an outer town hotel / student accomodation . Hotel is separate from students residence lots of american and british students . Daughter staying there on year working abroad. The hotel boasts three lovely roof top swimming pools( not heated ). It also has a cafe style restaurant on the ground floor . Rooms are on the small side but ample minimalist moderen decoration with ensuites and kitchens available wry clean . Very near the marina tube station which enables quick travel around the city . Tram station just across the road. A couple of convenience stores on way to station with an array of necessities such as milk bread ect . a good place to stay at a good price !
