“If you like steel and concrete mixed with mefiterranean type vegation - go for it”
Reviewed July 23, 2012 via mobile

I loved the plants, the way they were organized, the variety of plant species. The views on the city are great. I didn't like the concrete-rusty steel-sharp edges style of it, that kinda gave a bit of sterile look but it's just a matter of taste ;-)

“Mediterranean bloom”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

If you have enough time try no to miss a visit and a stroll through the Botanical Gardens of Barcelona. Can't miss them because there are right at the foot of Montjuic mountain - a short metro or bus ride. Once you get there - avoid doing this in summer: way too hot and muggy - take it easy. Walking paths are clearly marked (and most are paved, which is a pity). The walk is up-hill but non strenuous. Now, because this is a Mediterranean garden don't expect to find many flowers and pretty dainty roses and the like. No. The accent is on cactus and succulent plants. Trees such as pine and other Med species are everywhere to be seen. The views once you get to the top, are spectacular. Best time to visit is in autumm or early spring, and try and come early in the morning or before sunset. Great photos then.

“Tranquility above the Bustle”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

Well worth a visit to Montjuic after a couple of days amongst the sticky heat and bustle of the city. Easy journey by metro and cable car and then tranquility amongst plants from the mediterranean zones around the world whilst also overlooking the Olympic stadia .
Usually several degrees cooler than the city streets - take a picnic!

“Not in winter”
Reviewed February 12, 2012

Obviously it was not so good because of the season : no colours or flower. Just a great walk in the nature !
