“Small but has it all”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

This hotel is very well located. It is a small boutique hotel with wonderful accommodations, clean, friendly and helpful staff and the location was amazing! It's walking distance to Las Ramblas and across the street from the Hop On Hop off bus (all lines) making the need for public transportation unnecessary.

This location was really excellent- in the main shopping area, within 5 minute walk from major attractions (ie: Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, Placa Catalunya), right near the tour bus stops, a few doors down from a fantastic little coffee shop- terrific! The staff was very helpful with offering suggestions and giving directions for both tourist spots and local spots- loved the recos I was given. The rooms were spacious, with a small extra seating area, extremely modern décor and a comfortable bed. I really enjoyed my stay here.

We spent 5 nights at the Sixtytwo Hotel in Barcelona. We loved the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the internet. We did not like the lack of anywhere to sit in the room except the bed. We did not enjoy the lack of storage and closet space, or our luggage spread all over the limited floor space. We thought the bed was too hard and too low to be comfortable. We liked the breakfast, but don't think it was worth 18.5 Euros per person. Would stay again, but .....

Dear John,

First of all we would like to thank you for staying at The Sixtytwo and for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor.

We really appreciate your comments in order to improve our facilities and we can inform you that in a near future the storage space in all our rooms will be improved.

For a next stay do not hesitate to ask for a sofa area in your Executive Room. Taking into account The Sixtytwo is an old building, not all the rooms have exactly the same distribution. The room you stayed in had the best views of all our rooms, being located on our highest floor facing Paseo de Gracia but it is true that it does not have the biggest closet.

Our breakfast service has been divided in two in December. You will now be able to choose in between our Sixtywo Breakfast (complete buffet and a large variety of dishes cooked on demand) and the Express Breakfast "Croissant + Orange Juice + Coffee/Tea = for 5€ only".

Wish you the best in your future journeys,
Best regards,

This was our first trip to Barcelona on a four night break. Hotel was in a great location. The Hotel surprised us by writing 'Happy Anniversary' on the mirror in our executive room. The room surpassed our expectations and the views were magnificent from our balcony. On booking we had requested a room with a view and the Hotel accommodated this. The room was clean, spacious, very well equipped, especially the lighting system (very high tech). The safe and mini bar were an added bonus. The extra items provided in the bathroom were a lovely touch. We used the Nespresso machine in our room on arrival (an added cost of 1 euros each) have to say they were fantastic and well worth the money. Breakfast was outstanding, (Great value for money) and the staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. Due to a train strike on our last day we had to leave earlier than planned and could not make breakfast. We were offered and took up the offer of a picnic to replace breakfast. Check out was easy and smooth. Everything on the bill was checked and confirmed. My only point to note with management was the information in the room states drinks (tea/coffee etc..) in the bar area were free from 11.00 to 01.00 (this was not the case on our trip as we were charged for coffees in the bar). It may be a good idea to stipulate what drinks are free. Do not miss out on Hotel Sixtytwo. :-)

Room Tip: If you wish a room with a view onto Passeig de Gracia then bear in mind when you open the windows th...

Dear Maureen,
Thank you so much for your visit at The Sixtytwo and for such a nice review!
We are really glad to read you spent a great time in Barcelona and you trully enjoyed your stay in our home.
You should have received an email last week in your Tripadvisor mailbox. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience with the complimentary drinks and we were asking you for your booking details (with your Tripadvisor nickname we are not able to find your room). We have taken note of your recommendation of making clear which drinks are for free at the lounge and we would to refund these drinks as soon as possible.
Waiting for your news,
Best regards,

This is a nice hotel if you want to be in a prime location w/o a prime cost. Our room faced the back (upon request) and didn't have a view. Since we were sightseeing 90% of the time, that was not important. It is modern and minimalist. The color of the platform and the carpet were the same. In order to avoid hitting my leg again I put coasters on the 2 corners. The bathroom had a vessel sink and sliding glass frosted doors. Nice. The buffet breakfast included cava, croissants, cheeses, meats, fresh breads, 6 preserves, yogurts, cereals, fruits, juices and coffee. It was included in our price and well worth it. I would like to see some "plushiness" added to the room to give it a feel worthy of its location.

Our second consecutive stay in this hotel. Understated service, prime location and cool decor. Nothing not to like. The only minor (very minor!) carp would be the fact that the Nespresso capsules in the room are charged at one euro each. Otherwise outstanding - again.

We have just returned from a 4 night break in Barcelona staying in Sixtytwo Hotel. We were extremely impressed with the standard of our economy room, the only drawback being the lack of view from the window, but this did not spoil our stay. The room was spacious enough for us with a good size bathroom and shower. It was cleaned every day and had all the amenities we needed. We opted for having breakfast included in our room price and it was well worth it, with a good choice of cold buffet and freshly cooked hot items. We found all the staff friendly and helpful, and Alex, the manager seemed to be on hand on a regular basis if you had any problems, which we did not. The central position of the hotel meant that we were able to explore the city on foot, with a good choice of restaurants nearby for evening meals. Overall, I would happily recommend this hotel and would definitely return to it myself.

Room Tip: If a room with a view is important to you, pay a little extra for this.

Dear Janet,
Thank you so much for sharing your Sixtytwo Experience with other Tripadvisor travellers!
We are so happy to read you did enjoy your stay in Barcelona and in our home.
Be informed for a next time do not hesitate to book an Executive Room instead of a Small Interior, it is just a 10€ difference per night and you will get a window with views and a larger room and bathroom. It is true that our Small Interior is a great equipped room following the same decoration line of the other rooms but with less square meters and with a window but without views.
