We were looking for some afternoon tapas when we stopped at Sucoa. Ended up having great food and then having incredible truffles and cream. Our server was a gentlemen, but was entertaining as well. Highly recommended.

Like another reviewer we only tried this restaurant when we saw the queue outside the one that had been recommended and were walking round for an alternative. And we are so pleased we did. The food was excellent (starters including sardines on toast, eggs potato and sausage, main course rosemary shoulder of lamb with potato and apple, sirloin veal steak with vegetables) the service friendly and helpful albeit a tad slow, great but reasonably priced wine and decent desserts made it a really good experience. At a good price - in the order of £35 per head for 3 courses and a bottle of wine 2 glasses of rioja and a beer. Small but clean and nice atmosphere. Would happily recommend Sucoa which as there are only two other reviews is probably not well known outside the locals (All the other tables appeared to have been reserved or occupied by locals judging by the welcomes they got.

We have eaten at Sucoa twice in the last three days. The tapas is quite refined and uses top quality ingredients and is presented very beautifully. This is a more gastronomy oriented tapas than what is found at Cerveseria Catalonia which is practically around the corner which is cheaper, more crowded and more bustling. Sucoa by comparison is a more leisurely experience with instructive and friendly wait staff and superior food.

We stumbled upon Sucoa one evening in May when we could not get into Cerveseria Catalana. It's several blocks away at the corner of Carrer Enric Granalos and Carrer de Valencia. This is a fairly new little place that has yet to be discovered by tourists. The owner and our waiter could not have been more welcoming and helpful and we had some wonderfully creative tapas (vegetable millefeuille, courgette stuffed with mushrooms, and a lamb, potato and apple dish) and a nice bottle of wine.
