We started with the walking tapas and wine tour with Danny. What a great experience. Danny picked excellent tapas and wine paired to compliment. His knowledge of Spain, the Catalan area, and Barcelona was exceptional. Besides explaining the food and wine, he gave comprehensive information on local places of interest, history, culture, customs, and even gave us a few other restaurants to check out during our upcoming week. His restaurant recommendations were excellent as well, including Bar de Pla, and Me (not to be missed- say Hi to Thang the chef for us if you go by).
Richard's tour of Montserrat/Felix Winery was also excellent. Just like Danny, Richard's knowledge of historical information and more specific local bits really added to the experience.
We did the Costa Brava tour with Mandy. Just like the other guides, Mandy was a nice person, interesting in her own respects, and had plenty of knowledge to keep our attention all day.
All the tours were worth taking. My personal favorite was the tapas and wine tour. Nice because it was at night, which left your day open to other things, but long enough that by the end you were pretty well-walked, well-informed, filled with food and alcohol, and ready to head to bed if your still on a US time table.
Overall, we had a great time on all our excursions and would use Spanish Trails again in a minute. We also really enjoyed getting to know our tour guides. Each person had very unique experiences, and great stories to tell about themselves and how they ended up in Spain. One of my favorite parts of the tours, and I wish them all the best!
