Owner description: Spanish Trails was born in 2001 as one of the first small group (max. 8 pers.) day tour companies and incoming travel agencies to experience the best of what Barcelona and all of Catalunya, Spain have to offer. Our year-round, regularly scheduled day tours are all-inclusive fully guided all day experiences, though guests are more than welcome to explore on their own. We cover the corners of Catalunya including the Costa Brava, Pyrenees, Girona, Montserrat and Penedes and Priorat wine regions, as well as half and full day Barcelona city tours and food & wine tours. We also specialize in customized family tours, private touring and small group events. We use comfortable touring vans and our staff are fun, experienced local guides with a deep love and knowledge of the regional history and culture. We have proudly served over 17,000 clients over the last 16 years. See you soon! The Spanish Trails team.

We started with the walking tapas and wine tour with Danny. What a great experience. Danny picked excellent tapas and wine paired to compliment. His knowledge of Spain, the Catalan area, and Barcelona was exceptional. Besides explaining the food and wine, he gave comprehensive information on local places of interest, history, culture, customs, and even gave us a few other restaurants to check out during our upcoming week. His restaurant recommendations were excellent as well, including Bar de Pla, and Me (not to be missed- say Hi to Thang the chef for us if you go by).
Richard's tour of Montserrat/Felix Winery was also excellent. Just like Danny, Richard's knowledge of historical information and more specific local bits really added to the experience.
We did the Costa Brava tour with Mandy. Just like the other guides, Mandy was a nice person, interesting in her own respects, and had plenty of knowledge to keep our attention all day.
All the tours were worth taking. My personal favorite was the tapas and wine tour. Nice because it was at night, which left your day open to other things, but long enough that by the end you were pretty well-walked, well-informed, filled with food and alcohol, and ready to head to bed if your still on a US time table.
Overall, we had a great time on all our excursions and would use Spanish Trails again in a minute. We also really enjoyed getting to know our tour guides. Each person had very unique experiences, and great stories to tell about themselves and how they ended up in Spain. One of my favorite parts of the tours, and I wish them all the best!

My husband and I scheduled this tour from Barcelona prior to leaving the US. It was a perfect day. It began at 9 am on the steps of the Barcelona Post Office and ended there at 6:30. We were the only two on the tour that day, which as they had told us, cost a little more. Our guide, Mandy, did a great job and what a driver. She was in and out of Barcelona traffic and on to the beautiful coast just like a pro. We visited a national Park, an incredible fishing village, a medieval town and then Girona. It was so much more than we expected including a charming lunch. If you are looking for a day out of the city, this is it.

My group of 6 women used Spanish Trails for a 3 day extended trip of Girona and the Costa Brava. Our experience can only be described as perfect. Our guides (Derek and Jack) were excellent and very informative. The tours and sights were beautiful and very well chosen. We left the tour feeling like we had done and seen everything that the area had to offered. Tracy could not have been more helpful with planning our trip. All in our group would use Spanish trails again and will recommend it to friends! Thank you for a trip of a lifetime!!

We went on the wine and tapas tasting tour on 26th September. Before going on the tour we thought that 95 euros was a bit steep but the reviews on trip advisor were very good and we wanted to go on a tour which gave us a good introduction to the city.

Having been on the tour I would say it was excellent value for money. Brian who was our host had an in depth knowledge of everything Catalonian. We learnt a lot about the region's history, culture, food and wine. It was our first night in Barcelona and we really enjoyed it. It made a big difference to the rest of our stay because we knew about places to go and the best places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this excellent tour particulary as an introduction to the city.

Another couple and ourselves hired a car and guide for a day in Barcelona. We were on a cruise stop and with only one day felt this was a great way to see the city. It turned out we were right. We booked a 6 hour tour and were met after getting off the ship. Our guide and driver showed us around the city and we saw several interesting sites. She spoke great English and teh van was bery comfortabel. We had time to go through Sagrada Familia which is a church you must see. We were able to skip the long lines since we had a licensed guide and this was great as the line stretched around the corner. We went to the park on top of the hill and spent some time there. We ate lunch at a great tapas place and had a great day.
