“Beautiful Hotel, One of the best W.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

I recently visited Spain for two weeks of vacation and must say had a great time at the W hotel. The hotel is at perfect location with great restaurants surrounding it but secluded at the same time which is away from everything giving you the privacy. I would certainly recommend going to the Eclipse bar upstairs during evening time as they have many great drinks and bartenders are willing to make you new drinks if you ask them to surprise you. One thing I did learn which I would recommend people to know is tipping is optional there compare to United States but I would certainly tip as service tends to be impeccable unless if they're busy.

The view of the City is amazing from the rooms and the living room bar is just as beautiful which I would certainly recommend going to visit during your stay. Hotel is walkable to many great restaurant and will receommend to anyone going to Barcelona. Like many other cities in Spain, taxi is slightly expensive to and from the airport. Plan on wearing comfortable shoes as people tend to walk everywhere and I would recommend doing the same so you enjoy the city including the tapas. I would also recommend taking the tour bus which will allow you to cover the most ground in shortest amount of time. Another great thing about the tour bus is that you can get off the bus visit a location and hop on again without paying any additional fee.You can buy one day or two day bus pass but if you start at 10AM in the morning then you only need one day pass to visit the entire city.

Daniela V. and the rest of the staff at the W Barcelona were absolutely amazing. I have never received such incredible service and encountered such a nice hotel staff. Daniela is the kindest and most helpful hotel staff member I have ever encountered, at any hotel, ever. She made us feel like we were at home. Thanks Daniela! The hotel itself was absolutely immaculate. Views of the beach were absolutely breathtaking. Although we fell in love with the city of Barcelona, our room was so comfortable, we had a hard time leaving. By far, the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The shower was on a whole other level. It was having your own private spa in a hotel room. We cannot wait to visit the W Barcelona again!

The views from the room as are fantastic, either seaviews of city views or a combination.
Service is excellent and the restaurants on offer have a wide range of fresh food, meat and fish alike.
It is in a remote part of the harbour and not the most accessible hotel in town, so do plan for a significant taxi budget.
The rooms are very modern which may not be to everyone's taste, but they are hyper-clean and quite.

Room Tip: As high as possible.

We stayed here for a spring weekend, it was the most perfect hotel experience ever! The beds are beyond gorgeous ( I still close my eyes and recall memory of lying in those heavenly beds - a feeling of sublime calm whenever I need a moment of peace and sanctuary!!!!). The room was stylish and had the most amazing views acroos the harbour and portside.
The staff were all very friendly. We were travelling with a child, he slipped up on the pool and had a tiny cut, loads of tears etc....three waiters came running, scooped him up, made a lovely fuss of him, cossetted him in blankets, gave him icecream and generally spoilt him rotten. Our son now thinks of Barcelona as the place where adults are really kind to children (!!!!) The toiletries are gorgeous. It was a good location for getting into the tourist spots, and a quiet zone after a busy day sightseeing. There are not lots of eateries within walking distance, so it is best to eat before you return in the evening, unless you are a moderate walker.
Perfect for romantic couples! We would return in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for the weekend at the end of November 2012. The Hotel itself is out of town, but is great. The room was great. Dinner in Bravo was excellent although expensive. The Bar/club on the top does not really get going till around midnight, but before hand drinks and the view are good.

Staff were generally friendly, however at breakfast when busy, they need to learn how to deal with people a little better, as the comments come across rather rude.

Would recommend this hotel, more a couple rather than a family one.

Great views, great service, great design, great beds, great shower, and great vacation staying at this hotel. Be aware however that it is located a bit far from the main Barcelona attractions, necessitating cab rides. Cabs however are reasonable so it was not a problem at all.

We arrived at W Barcelona with high expectations. The staff at the reception was friendly and welcoming however not knowledgleable at all about the rate we booked- the new years party at the nightclub eclipse was included in our rate, which was negated by the clerk ( later clarified without apologize). The room layout is not suitable for more than one person- the bathroom is literally in the middle of the room, toilet and shower doors are almost transparant. Maybe this matches an exhibitionist's expectations but not two friends' who are willing to pay 300 euros for a shared room per night... Breakfast buffet was good, however service very poor. At check out the staff showed its typical 'w' face: no 'thank you' no questioning if we liked our stay- no wonder, my credit card had already been charged upon check in. Nice to see but never again. Rather consider Olha, Omm, Me or Mandarin Oriental...!
