“Good food good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012 via mobile

Close to a market and out of the tourist trail this restaurant was a site for sore eyes. We ordered various tapas and seafood and everything was incredibly tasty and good value too. Service was a bit "panicky" as there were only 2 waiters and I could see the stress in their eyes but overall smiley! Ask for your bill when you order your desert too as it can take a while (restaurant looks understaffed)

“Great for Tapas, not for meals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

This restaurant was just a couple of blocks away from our hotel, in the middle of the Eixample, away from La Rambla and the tourist areas. It seemed that they cater to the locals at this restaurant. Outside seating by the street was nice, it was a cool evening.

We had three delicious tapas -- tapas de foie gras, Iberian ham, and Pan con Tomato. We should have stuck with tapas because our main course, Catalan Paella, consisted almost entirely of rice, save for some little bitty pieces of seafood floating around here and there. And it was not very tasty (we were told this is classic Catalan style Paella). The service was good and the wait staff was friendly.

Would we return? Probably, but for tapas only!

“great local find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

This place was a local find, tucked away on one of the many bar lined streets in the residential area of Eixample. Being away from the centre and ramblas area, this place is an affordable and exquisite lunch time tapas bar, with a really reasonable and entirely Spanish wine list. We had the MOST delicious asparagus I have ever tasted here, we enjoyed it so much we had to order a second portion. Alongside traditional favourites La Cococha excels at giving local ingredients a contemporary twist, such as the aubergine carpaccio with an olive and cheese crust, or chorizo in a rum sauce. Really lovely staff, and the best coffee of the trip

“Terrible - don't go”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2011

This restaurant is a joke. We were recommended to visit it by the front desk of our hotel. Bad call. The ribs were dry and almost uneatable. The aspargous was not eatable. My friend had a sea bass which was below average. There are flies flying around in the restaurant - in December, a sign of poor hygiene. Only ok thing was the prices - but then again, the food tasted really bad, so it was still too expensive.
