Description: Set on a bustling street in the heart of old Barcelona near the gothic cathedral, El Trobador Ferran is a popular choice for fusion Mediterranean brasserie food in very stylish setting. The decor is bold and colourful, like a troubadour's costume, with harlequin floors and chair backs, purples and reds splashed everywhere, musically themed graphics on the walls and cheery lighting. Lightfooted waiters zip through the dining room. The menu is grill-based, with dishes like starter of grilled artichokes, mains of skewers of prawns with bacon, grilled fish and meat dishes, pastas and risottos, and dessert of crema catalena. There's a daily menu, too, featuring seasonal creations.

“Tasty, but nothing special”
Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

Food was quite tasty, but nothing special. It was written in menu that they serve the whole Dorado fish, but indeed there were separate pieces of fish on my plate. We also ordered Churasko: it was ok, but had much fat

“Good But Not Remarkable”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

The food is good, not remarkable or special but tasty enough. I would suggest keeping to the most popular local dishes. The place is quite spacious and with high ceiling which is a definite plus. If you are staying or passing nearby, it's OK. It just doesn't deserve a special visit otherwise. You could find similar quality of food and ambience everywhere in Barcelona, except on Las Ramblas, which should be avoided by all means accroding to everyone's advice.

Extra charge for everything. Food was OK, not great but service was exceptional on the terrace.
Lot of other restaurant that serve good food and cheaper on the other side by Las ramblas

“Delicious...”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

We were looking for a place to eat one evening and found this on a side street off La Rambla. The food was delicious and very resonably priced. We had 7 tapas dishes, plus tomato bread and a beer and glass of wine and the bill was €45. Service was quick and staff friendly. Would recommend!
