I attended a conference at the convention center and the hotel is just across the street.
The staff is super friendly, the breakfast has all that we can imagine a good hotel must have.
There are two small pools and several nice bars.
The hotel has a very good design and the rooms are a surprise :-), as you may see in the photos.
But most of all, what I miss is the view of my room. That gorgeous view over Barcelona. It was fantastic to see that view just before falling asleep.

Room Tip: Choose a high room (my room was on the 25th floor) and whatever the floor choose the "first&quo...

This hotel is directly across the street from the convention center and a few blocks to the beach, it functions perfectly with a good breakfast, It is 1.5 blocks to the nearest subway stop, if you have a conference at the convention center than this is a good place to stay, it is, however, not in the main part of Barcelona. So, if you do not have reason to be at the convention center, then I would recommend staying nearer to the action.

Barcelona Princess Hotel in front of the CCIB, Barcelona International Convention Centre, and less 5 minutes walking you can be there. Diagonal Mar Shopping Center is next to the hotel. The beach is located less 10 minutes walking.

Our guests take around 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport.

It’s a great idea to spend a day by the main sites of Barcelona and and when finished the day come back to a quiet place to rest.

The hotel is very well designed, and makes a statement from the moment you enter. Front desk was very helpful and we did not wait at all although the hotel was fully booked. Only 3 lifts contributed for a lot of rooms, so it was kinda slow and sometimes we had to wait even for a third lift. We had a corner room which was really spacious and the view from the top floor was great. We had sea view, but city view is also excellent, in my opinion.

It is a quite far from the city, but the area is considerably nice, modern, quite and has a great beach within walking distance. Close to the metro nonetheless.

The pool was small and shallow, and it could also use a jacuzzi if they want to complete the package they are offering.

Room Tip: Corner rooms seem to be excellent, but other rooms we checked also seem large. You don't really...

Thanks for share your experience.

We are an urban hotel with limited space. We try to do the best and give extra service out of charge to our guests. All our rooms have Minibar and WiFi out of charge, Sauna, Gym and two Pools. Furthermore, we have a business center with six computers and the possibility to print without cost

Barcelona Princess Hotel does not have a Jacuzzi, only the Master Suite Room has one in the terrace.

We have good public transport connections, less than 20 minutes by metro from the city center.

Hope to see you again at the hotel.

I traveled solo to Barcelona and chose this hotel for location and reviews. I wanted to be close to a beach so that I could enjoy the afternoons on the Mediterranean. You are no more than 10 min walk to the beach. The Metro is a 5 minute walk and the yellow line takes you everywhere so no need to change lines. I felt safe alone and had no negative encounters. The hotel is definitelyout of the way however a 15 minute metro ride takes you jaume and the barri gotic. My favorite area. I did not eat at the hotel so can not comment on the food. I did have a crema catalina (sort of creme caramel) delish! I did order drinks at the lobby bar, great service and great bartender Raoul. I also used the pool on the 23rd floor which was nice. My room was on the 18th floor with a king bed and I loved it. The cava and the cherries were a nice touch also. There is a shopping mall right next door where you can find anything you need and a grocery store. Right next to the metro stop there is a bakery which opens around 700am serves great coffee and pastries real cheap name is Granier! Please be careful with the hairdryer it gets very hot. I burned myself on the second day . I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again . :)

Room Tip: higher floors have nicer views

We spent six nights at the Barcelona Princess since the wife attended the IFORS conference this July.

A quick caveat - you would not normally book the Princess (nor the AC Marriott or Hilton, the big three in the area ) unless you had business on this southeastern corner of the city - and we did since the conference was at the Convention Center International d' Barcelona (CCIB). There's nothing remotely close to the hotel, except for the Diagonal Mar, one of the newest malls and pretty large by city standards. It's also close to a beachfront so we've seen people who booked here to do beach stuff. As a saving grace, there is a metro station close by, there's a taxi line in front of the convention center, and the tram runs right beside the hotel. Also, the Barcelona Bus Turistic and the Barcelona City Tour by Grayline stops in front of the hotel. It's decently large, with a triangular shape since it's at the sharp corner of Ave Diagonal and Willy Brandt - the rest of the triangular block is occupied by Diagonal Mar Mall. The lobby is relatively small but with the four sofa seating areas is able to hold a lot of people. They do have tight security with several people vigilant with guests coming in - but that's probably a good thing. Reception services is pretty efficient though for other tasks like when leaving stuff for other hotel guests or sending faxes to your room, it seems to be hit and miss. It had decent lifts - and once above the 3rd floor, the glass panelled lifts give you a view of the eastern Barcelona.

There's a few design decisions that we found odd, probably dictated by its triangular shape. For one, when the elevators doors open, you're always looking at wooden cabinet panels - not a great sight. The wash basins have a tall curved neck faucet which occupies a big part of the basin area, preventing you from putting your face near the centre of the basin, which then causes dripping. And the curtains could only be drawn to one side - they were fixed at one end. The pillows were strangely shaped - one long and thin and narrow one that spread across the entire bed - and two huge squarish ones that were a bit too high to use as head pillows. And they supposedly keep a central temperature of 21c - so when we tried to fiddle around with the thermostat to get room temp warmer, we weren't sure if we were actually changing the temperature or not. The living room sofa had a wavy seating surface - something Antoni Gaudi might have designed. The desk had a Gaudi-like overhead lamp that seemed out of place. And my last nit to pick - there weren't too many storage spaces for the six of the room.

Breakfast is good - we were coming from Lleida and the food quality and variety was so much better. They had the usual breads and spreads, sweet breads, cereals, assorted dry and fried meats, veggies, hard boiled and scrambled eggs, fruits (and their watermelon slices were always very good), real fruit juices, and coffee dispensers. There are enough table and the wait staff are efficient in cleaning up. And each table always had a satisfaction survey form with pen at the ready - that told me they were serious about customer feedback.

The mini-suite we had had a very nice elongated balcony where we would have late night wine while looking at the beach and the moon. All their mini suites are at the apex of the triangle so the whole long wall was floor to ceiling window. The rooms are tiled, not carpeted - a feature that made the Princess look a little cheap. What was appreciated was that everything in the mini bar was free - natural water, gas water, beer, and fruit soda. And they restocked it daily. The safe worked. And the indirect lighting from the back of the bed was cute. The bedside lamps were also effective.

The bathroom was a bit on the small side - but the tub had a full window. The mirror was not of the anti-fog type unfortunately. The sink was all-glass, a very modern touch.

Just to emphasize - having a mall right beside your hotel is one big plus. It had a large supermarket, a department store, several hundred fashion shops. electronic goods stores, and a ton of eating places, from fast food to fine dining, on the 3rd floor.

Room Tip: the mini-suite was nice with lots of windows.

Next week will see our fifth visit to the Princess in three years! We usually stay for a couple of weeks in Summer with a week at another time through the year and have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the hotel for either a short or extended stay. It is just my favourite hotel.
I love the city view best - in fact it is something I often think about when our weather is cold and wet at home. It is the most special feeling in the world to press the button that lifts the blackout blind and be greeted by the view of the entire city of Barcelona, just waiting to be explored. Again at the other end of the day it is magical and truly beautiful at night - as all the major buildings are lit up in front of you. Bedrooms are spacious and modern with great storage and well designed.

It is a large hotel, but not impersonal, standards are very high and we experienced few problems with the lifts which are glass and again very luxurious. The hotel is ideally situated - only five minutes walk away from a local beach which is at its best first thing in the morning. There are two small pool areas - but we just prefer the beach.

There is also a suite of computers for printing anything out, and there is always availability for these. People complain about the bathroom but there is a blind that can be kept down for privacy - and a fantastic shower. We have not eaten there as 15 breakfasts would be just too much to work off back home …. but the choice looks excellent and very tempting…

I have to say that the staff are very professional and helpful, the Barman in the Corner Bar especially. Bedrooms were cleaned to perfection - it is lovely to come up from the beach or from shopping to a cool immaculate room. Free bar is a great touch!

The hotel is just across the road from the metro (very safe location) and on the yellow metro line which is great for all the main attractions and other metro stations. It doesn’t take that long to get straight into the main areas - and away from crowds of people. There is a great shopping centre next door with a range of more commercial restaurants as well as the tram which will take you effortlessly down to the port.

Really wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!

Lovely hotel, if you don't look too closely. Our room had damaged windowsills, broken veneers, a toilet door that wouldn't close (not good when the wall is glass) and bedside lamps that didn't work. The whole hotel needs refreshing and redecoration. Great fun in the bathroom, especially for men! The sink has no plug (reception said they are not allowed?) and the only mirror was on an adjacent wall. Just how one is supposed to shave has never been considered by the woman (obviously) who designed the layout. Stupid style over substance. Great view though!

Room Tip: A sea view room is best. Try to get a room from floor 20 up.
