On arrival we were greeted by a friendly English speaking receptionist. The room was modern, but perhaps too modern. The toilet/bathroom and bedroom were all in the same room seperated by glass. We wanted to use the swimming pools but soon realised that they are very small and the one on the 23rd floor was closed for repairs. Breakfast was very good, but good luck getting there, because the 3 lifts for this large hotel are painfully slow. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes for the lift to arrive. The bedroom pillows are horrid. Otherwise everything was good and it's close to the tram and metro. Next door is a huge shopping mall.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a lower floor because the lifts are unreliable and slow.

We stayed at the Barcelona Princess in December 2012 over the Christmas holidays and it was a lovely stay. The hotel employees were very helpful and cordial. The best part was that we could easily converse with them in English (don't get me wrong, we did try our best to speak some Spanish, but it was easier in English for everyone). We got a lovely surprise of chocolate pastries and wine on our first night too.

Our room overlooked the Mediterranean Sea, and we got to see a beautiful sunrise and sunset everyday. The hotel itself is very modern, with glass walkways, futuristic furniture and glass dividers between the room and the bathroom. The heated open air pool on the roof was a great too. Because it was December, we had it all to ourselves mostly.

The hotel was surprisingly very close to the metro - the walk was merely 2 minutes. There's a lovely cafe right across from the hotel, and the Diagonal Mar (a huge shopping mall with a cinema and an outside food court) right next to it!

One of the drawbacks was that the gym was disappointing. There was couple of spin bikes and treadmills, a few weights and the yoga mats very dirty. Considering it was on a balcony of the 3 or 4th floor (open air, and with just a glass door), and open to the guests; it was not heated properly and we were freezing during our workouts. I couldn't stay there for more than 20 mins.

Princess is a bit further away from downtown Barcelona too. i would have enjoyed if our hotel was near La Ramlas, but this was fun too.

I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona.

We spent a couple of nights here (got a great deal on the room price) as part of a recent trip to explore Barcelona. While not in the centre, it's easily accessed by tram and metro. It's also well placed for the beach and we had a sea-view room high up which was just what I wanted. There is also a shopping centre right next door which is handy. Staff were perfectly pleasant and the food was great. We enjoyed room service (order the wrapped chicken dish!) and also a nice meal in the restaurant. Little luxury touches I enjoyed included robes and slippers, which I used when I took a night-time dip in the rooftop pool which has great views. We would stay here again if we return to Barcelona.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea-view room on a high floor. Breathtaking.

Really good hotel, rooms are a good size with funky extras like electric blinds and power shower. Rooms were very clean. Our safe was broken but replaced as soon as we complained. Stayed on a room only basis so breakfast at 20 euros was a bit steep, there is a nice patisserie by the metro entrance round the corner though! Staff were always friendly and helpful and happy to store our bags for the day on checkout.
We knew the hotel was a little way from the centre, but its very close to the beach and metro station takes you into the centre in 15 mins.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views

Used the Barcelona Princess as a base for sight-seeing around Barcelona.

The staff were friendly, polite and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The room was of a fair size and had everything you needed - the added extras like robe and slippers was a nice touch! A kettle and coffee would have been nice in the room, but not a massive negative! We had a room on the 18th floor, so the views were pretty impressive, the rooms have these cool blackout blinds in them so I slept very soundly - though make sure you click a light on before you get up as the blinds do work very well!!!

Roof top pool was great, sat out for an hour one morning to catch the early rays, nice spot, but there is not a great amount of room up there.

The bar was lovely, we had cocktails one evening in there when they had a fe promotions running and the bar man was very cheery and informative making us a range of different cocktails from the menu. We ate dinner in the hotel one night, which was OK, but nothing to rave about. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice from fruit to pastries and cooked selection.

Check-in and check-out we're both very smooth, with no waiting or hassle. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the power shower in the bathroom was lovely!

The tourist city tour bus picks up right outside the hotel which was very convenient. We couldn't find a great deal around the hotel to do, other than the mall, it is a taxi or tram ride to any decent restaurants or attractions, but this did not spoil are time there as we were out most days sightseeing!

All in all a very comfortable and pleasant stay, would happily make a return visit.

Room Tip: High up and sea facing - on a clear day you can see all the boats out on the sea!

Lovely hotel. Rooms beautifully clean and it was nice having the little extras like the slippers and bathrobes! Was there on a B&B basis and breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Free wifi with the use of computers was fantastic. A short stroll across the road took you to the beach and right next door is a shopping centre if you like to shop! Metro is close by if you want to venture into Barcelona as the hotel is approx 6 miles out although we took a taxi was didn't cost much. Open top bus tours has a stop right outside which is handy and worth doing. I think about 23 euros. Didn't use the pool or jacuzzi although both looked nice. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

My wife and I stayed at this fantastic hotel from the 26th March till the 29th March (3 nights) We had an excellent stay in this top class hotel.
On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The person on the reception asked us what floor we would like to stay on, and having read the reviews on Trip advisor stating that the higher up the hotel the better because of the view. We requested the 26th floor and what a view! Incredible view over the city.
The room was spotless and well equiped with a fantastic power shower and WC. The bed was comfortable and two singles were pushed together to make a king size double bed. We tried to get an English speaking TV channel on the TV but were unable to find one.
The breakfast was spectacular with everything that you could wish for and well mannared staff waiting on.
I had read that the location of the hotel was out of Barcelona slightly and having checked this on Google Maps this was the case. However, the tourist bus (Green route) stops outside the hotel and there is a tram stop outside the hotel. A short two minutes walk around the corner is the metro which takes you directly into the city centre. Yes the hotel is out of the city centre but there is a very good transport system directly into the city centre.
There is also the Diagonal Mall next to the hotel with many shops and an array of restauraunts to choose from.
There must be hundreds of hotels in Barcelona, but you would be hard pressed to beat this one.
