The hotel looks lovely from the outside and in the reception area. It is located next to El Museu Blau, the sea, near the El Maresme/Forum metro/tram lines and close by is a comprehensive set of shops and restaurants. The hotel is reasonably priced, although I would suggest not getting a sea-view room as it isn't worth the extra cost - the view is not that good.

The staff are very friendly and are always willing to help. In my stay, I heard one receptionist speak at least 4 different languages (including English and French), which is impressive and helpful to those who haven't had time to brush up their Catalonian. The hotel has a lugguage storage area which you can use before checking in, during your stay and after you've checked out. There are a lot of other facilities on offer but we only used the pools (see below).

The room we stayed in was supposed to have a king-sized bed but it was really two singles pushed together; disappointing, as comfortable as they were. The rooms have a shower and toilet, which are in adjacent, glass cubicles; the shower is amazing with three different types of water projections and settings beyond that. The room was tidy and clean, although we did find some broken glass near the wardrobe. The sink is set in a glass surface, which looks great - so long as there isn't a great crack in it fixed with sellotape (like we had). The TV is confusing to use to begin with (if you want BBC1, you have to select "4" and then navigate down with the arrow keys to it or you get some Spanish channel) but it does have channels from 5 or 6 different countries. The room also has a mini-bar, and you are allowed 5 free drinks per day. The plugs are not in a great location to the bed but it isn't anything to moan about.

The hotel has two outdoor pools, one on the twenty-something-th floor and one on the 3rd. Both are supposed to be heated but the one higher up is not very warm. The higher one only has the "view" (out to sea) going for it. The 3rd floor pool is perfect, however. A great temperature and we went 3 times during our stay, which is unusual for us. Just remember that smoking in public places is allowed in Spain. One a side, one of the toilets on this floor had its lock held together by sellotape.

At times, the lifts can be temperamental and at one point only stopped at our floor when it was going down. Eventually, we had to go down to go up again. If you are in the adjacent building of the hotel (it is formed of two buildings with walkways on each floor) it is worth mentioning that the walkways between are made of glass, so if you do not like heights you may want to make a request for one on the lift-side building. Also, the lifts have a glass back - just so you know.

Room service is available (we didn't use it), which I mention because no one came to collect the two trays outside our neighbouring-room's doors. This is okay when you see it once but not for the next day and a half.

For me, it was a mixture of pros and cons (mainly glass and sellotape). I would recommend staying here but get the cheapest room you can.

Room Tip: Do not get a sea-view room.

We’re very gratefully for your opinion. They are very helpful for us.

We want to apologize for the ‘sellotape’, we have informed to the Maintenance Department about it. They are going to take care after the maintenance works.

Once a day our Staff collects all the trays. Maybe your neighbouring-room’s used the Room Service each day. Anyway, the Food and Beverage Department has been informed about it.

Despite there little facts, we hope you have a nice stay at Barcelona Princess Hotel.

Best Regards

Where do I start? Service, food, room, wow everything was perfect. We chose to stay out of the centre for our Christmas break in Barca. The Princess is virtually on the waters edge in the Forum district of Barca. Our room overlooked the redeveloped Forum area by the sea. A great space for long walks after over-indulging at the sumptuous breakfast spread! Free Mini bar replenished daily with a couple of bottles of water, a coke, a beer and a fanta - great.
Really good transport links to everywhere from the hotel. Tram and bus stops just across the road and Metro is around the corner. If you can't face trekking into town to get your shopping fix you will find a large El Corte Ingles mall about 50 mtrs from the front door.
So much else to do in the city we did not sample the spa or pools - will definitely book here again!

Room Tip: If you don't mind heights ask for a room on one of the upper floors. Views of water or city night and day are brilliant.

Stayed here in early February and found the hotel to be of an excellent standard in cleanliness, our room was cleaned each day and stock was replaced for the toiletries to be used the soft drinks mini bar was also replenished.
The breakfast was very substantial and the waiting staff were really pleasant (not the same could be said for the staff in some of the local bars / restaurants)
Didnt use the pool or spa facilities at the hotel but did meet the odd person in the lift in their dressing gowns and slippers on route :)
Few comments about the lifts on this site already and the delays when they are called, have to say as travelling in a group of women who ended up booked on different floors none of us found this to be a problem.
I personally would stay in this hotel again and have no problem in throughly recommending it although I did think it was more of a couples / business trip kind of clientel.

Room Tip: we had 4 / 5 rooms booked through our group all of the rooms looked to be of the same standard 2108 has a sea view though :)

A group of 6 people stayed at this hotel. The price was rather "cheap" (80-110,-€/night). It's an ok business hotel, located too far out of the vibrant town to my likings. My colleagues complained about the rooms being too hot. I had not such an issue; my room had a sea view. Bed was comfortable, excellent shower. There's nothing wrong, but there is no sparkle either.
Breakfast (19,-) is very elaborate: excellent. Staff is helpful (though the girl at the front desk should not be sitting on a bar stool !
Problem: when arriving by car, there is no indication to the parking nor is there any place to park in front of the hotel. I double parked. The valet parked my car in the underground parking which ended up being the wise choice because I was able to get my car back before 09:00! My colleagues whom self-parked could not get to their car before 09:00 because the parking is closed until that time... What?
Would I stay here again? Possibly NOT. There are better and more convenient choices for this budget in this lovely city!

Room Tip: Sea view, though be careful: the passage from one to the other tower is in glass... Yikes... Me-no-likey...

We are very grateful for sharing your opinion about the hotel.

Barcelona Princess Hotel is located just 20 minutes by metro from the city center. Also our guests can use the Tram or Bus.

We’re sorry if bother you that the lady was sitting at the front desk, it’s a delicate personal matter and the Hotel Management knows and authorizes this. We’re sure that the service and treatment that she has given you has not been affected.

We don’t know which incident you had with the parking, but we are sure that it has been a misunderstanding. Our guests can get the cars when they want.

Hope you can give us a second opportunity, your experience with us at the hotel could be better!

Kind Regards

I recently visited this hotel as a last minute trip and was dubious about its location but I have to say it was perfect!!!! The minor trade off being just a very short convenient journey meant the hotel was very high quality and the facilities were fantastic! The heated pools made all the difference and the hotel boasts incredible views! There is a roof top pool and a glass elevator to exploit the panoramic views- they truly are unbeatable! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was good and the rooms were spotless and cleaned to a high standard daily. Fresh robes an towels, complimentary miny bar, this hotel gives everything even down to the little details! Would recommend it every time!!
