“Good food at reasonable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

I didn't go for the house specialty (Argentinian beef), but nevertheless had a very decent lunch at a very reasonable price (Large salad, cannelloni, dessert, coffee, sparking water and a glass of wine for € 17).

The Cannelloni were not really the Italian way, rather french galettes with lots of sauce - delicious!

Definitely will go back there

“Great value, decent steak”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Not much wrong here. A smallish but tasteful steak house. Very helpful and friendly local staff. Good but not exceptional steak, well cooked with reasonable offering of sides. Staff knew the wine list and recommended and nice bottle of Red.

“Cozy argentinian restaurant with great beef!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

This small, cozy restaurant in the northern part of El Born is really nice. We got great service, and I really liked the opportunity to order just half of a Bife de choirizo. Reasonable prices also.

“Good Argentinian restaurant in El Born”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

There is not an enormous selection of meat on offer (they don't serve t-bone, rib eye or fillet steaks), but the tenderloin we ate was delicious. La Chacha is an Argentinian family run parilla which serves steak from both Argentina and Spain and good wines to go with them. There are also some chicken and pasta dishes available. The meat was of a high standard and beautifully cooked. The chef knew what he was doing.

We had a crepe with dulce de leche filling for pudding, and it was also very good.

Our steak alone was around 17 euro for 200 g - not overly cheap. They did get our side orders wrong and forgot our pudding, but I don't blame the waiter as we were ordering in English and perhaps we weren't clear (takes two to tango, after all) and didn't really mind as overall the service was friendly and we were happy to take our time.

We had been a little concerned that there was nobody else in the restaurant (8.30 pm on a Saturday) but perhaps it was early (and it is August, when lots of people are away). And I think this place may also suffer a little with its location in El Born: it's not the most high class neighbourhood, so I expect most diners will be a taxi or bus ride away which probably means it relies on repeat visits rather than passing footfall.
