Description: Based on an exhaustive selection of the best raw materials in our region, the gastronomic offer is made from simple and tasty tapas to a full season tasting menu. Paying the utmost attention in the respect for the raw materials, producers and our environment, we work to make the gastronomic experience not only pleasant and fun, but also sustainable, fair and healthy. 80% of the products we use in our kitchen, from vegetables, meats and fish, to wines, beverages and breads, come from small producers in the region. This obliges us and allows us to always work with seasonal products and update our menus permanently. We do not use gluten or lactose and the sugar from our desserts is integral and environmentally friendly. The visit of our clients, then, becomes a comprehensive event ranging from the sensory enjoyment proper to an emotional satisfaction derived from the knowledge of knowing that what is being enjoyed also contributes to strengthen the local economy and Our own health.

If you appreciate good food that's bursting with flavour, this is the place for you.

They only do tasting menus but trust me it's worth it.

All the food is local and organic, it's all cooked to perfection and it seriously is some of the best tasting food I've had.

It's a must!

Also the staff are so friendly and helpful.

“Hard to find, impossible not to like”

We had a perfect dining experience at Montiell, wandering through different tastes of food and wine. The staff is well prepared and it is obvious that everyone at Montiell enjoys serving the guests, including the owners (they have great stories to tell)

“fantastic experience”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

On the last evening of our citytrip, we wanted to experience this restaurant which our friends highly recommended. If you don't know where it is located, you probably won't find it. Nor the outside, neither the interior is comparable with what you get on your dish. You can only choose between 2 menus: one from 50€ and one from 65€. Take the last one and you get 10 different dishes. We took also the selection of wines (30€) for which you get from appetizer to dessert 7 glasses of wine. The starters were delicious but followed each other very quickly. As we wanted to enjoy every taste as much as we could, we asked Marcos why it all went so fast. He explained most customers liked it that way and that the speed slows down from 12 minutes at the start to about 15-18 minutes at the end, meanig it takes about 2,5 hours for the full diner. He appreciated our response and indeed we slowed down to a confortable speed. (Customers who arrived 15 minutes after us , finished already 30 minutes before us) We got with each dish a new and fantastic taste experience. Also the accompagnied wine selection was top! This deserves a Michelin star. Pimp up your interior and you will get it.... but please keep the prizes as they are today. Thanks again for this fantastic evening.

“Exquisite food in a warm and friendly atmosphere”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

We were in Barcelona and wanted to find somewhere special to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. After reading many positive reviews on TA, we decided to give Montiel a try. We were not disappointed. From the second we set foot inside we were made to feel welcome. Marcos and Jose were attentive, genial and passionate about the food they served.

We chose the Gastronomic Tasting Menu - 10 courses of the most delightful food you could wish to eat. Each course was beautifully presented, with an extraordinary attention to detail. Particular highlights were the Japanese beef and the chocolate dessert. The beef was perfectly seared, with a beautifully caramelised crust and a meltingly tender centre. The chocolate dessert contained layers of a mousse-like texture with perfectly paired chocolate and orange flavourings. However, it seems unfair to single out these two dishes, since every course was delicious in its own way. The lettuce ice cream, served alongside the tuna belly was an absolute inspiration.

Every course was explained in detail as it was delivered to our table - many of the ingredients were sourced from the restaurant's own farm.

We could not fault a single thing about our experience here and we left the restaurant feeling as if we had made new friends.

“Amazing”
Reviewed May 23, 2014 via mobile

We went here for my girlfriend's birthday and had the 10 course gastronomic menu.

We were blown away by the quality of the food, the presentation and the service.

All 10 courses were perfectly presented and spaced out well. All in, it took around 2.5 hours for us to finish the food. Ever course was different and explained very well by the staff.

We did not have the matching wines but did have a very good bottle of Syrah, a choice the host seemed to approve of.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting barcelona, it may be a bit adventurous for the very faint hearted but we would go again in an instant.
