Albareda Youth Hostel was a good experience for us. I came with a friend from France and all the people were friendly. The people that work here was friendly too, they said to us the good places to see in Barcelona. The youth hostel is close to the metro station and the rambla, so in 10/15 minutes you can go everywhere you want. It's always clean and you have a kitchen that you can use everytime you want. Anything else to say, you must have to go here!

Coming from another Seville hostel, I thought this one paled slightly in comparison. Reception was helpful when we asked questions but didnt really feel a warmth of welcome when we checked in. However, one of the younger lads at reception (this French guy), was really nice as we striked up conversations and chatted about the city and stuff. Location was good and the rooms were clean. However, two common showers might pose a problem though we didnt experience it as we checked out the night when a group of at least 20 students checked into the hostel.

The staff were very helpful and outgoing. The facilities are good for a hostel. The kitchen is small but located next to the common area so it's easy to spread out and meet people. Maybe I got lucky but I was placed in room, and given a bed, furthest from the central part of the hostel where the chance of having less noise was the largest. Barcelona is a night life town and this hostel provides opportunities for having fun. The location is convenient and in a reasonably secure but not altogether clean area.

Had the best experience here, the way the dorms are set up around the main lounge, kitchen space, create a wonderful environment to meet fellow travellers. Close to Las Ramblas and great value for money.

Everything about the hostel was great. Friendly staff, common area on ground floor is great for meeting people, which is facilitated by the staff; the woman at reception was always arranging activities, cooked food for us one day, gave recommendations, etc. Bathrooms and common areas are impecably clean (only 2 showers but was never a problem) The 4-bed room was great, had A/C, large lockers, etc. Breakfast is basic - cereal and toast with jam. While many in the hostel went out late at night, quiet hours are enforced after midnight. You will hear people coming in/out but this is expected in any hostel and staff will ensure they are quiet. Location is pretty good; 5 min. walk from the port and the bottom of the Ramblas and 3 min walk from closest metro stop (Parallel). The area and the end of Ramblas can be a sketchy late at night. Be careful in Barcelona as it in the worst city for pickpockets. Be careful! many hostel guests were targets; keep all uncessary items in the hostel locker. Great stay in BCN!

We stayed in a private 4 bed. The room was really narrow, but we're not picky. The beds were comfy and the rooms came with lockers. The restrooms are community but come with plenty of showers and toilets. The showers are freaking awesome with tons of pressure!

The hostel itself was pretty cool looking with nice decor. Also, it was very clean. The staff were pretty helpful. Johnny, the receptionist, was a baller and gave us a bunch of tips for Barcelona. The location was nice too; it was only a short walk from the water and kind of at the bottom of Las Ramblas (the main street in Barce).

Very good value, and safe!! It's also a short walk from the metro stop...easy to find. Also free wifi and computer use. And bfest was ok. The place comes with a kitchen and a washing machine + dryer.
