Exe Ramblas Boqueria

My wife and I stayed for three nights in May to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This is a nice modern hotel, which offers clean, comfortable (but small) rooms right on the Ramblas. Breakfast was very good but basic and there are no other amenities in the hotel. The location really is superb though as you are literally just a few metres away from the most interesting part of the city as well as being within easy walking distance of the port.

Well situated for tourist sights, right on Las Ramblas. Our room was small, fairly quiet, modern and clean except for previous clients´remains of food left in fridge and room was not cleaned at all one day.Wardrobe small and no drawers anywhere. Bathroom good but no shelf space poor towels and toilet paper.Reception staff very helpful, especially when I was pickpocketed in the market and lost all my documentation etc.No bar nor restaurant, breakfast buffet was poor selection, poor value for cost and almost impossible to get to the coffee machine and the toaster due to the layout. The TV did´nt work according to the instructions and only two english stations. We would not recommend this hotel, mainly on price.

First things first. My wife and I are big food lovers, and I chose this hotel entirely because of it's close proximity to the Boqueria market. And as it turned out I couldn't have hoped for any better. Our room had a back patio that overlooked the market, and from the hotel lobby it is literally 20 seconds walk and you are in the market. We were able to bring fresh seafood, serrano, fruit, juice, bread etc. back to our room for feasts everyday and loved every minute of it.
As far as the other features of the hotel go, it was new and modern, clean, had free wi-fi and friendly front desk staff. It is a solid walk from the Plaza de Catalunya (where the Aerobus stop is) but quite doable, we had a large suitcase and a carry on each and did it fine. The sights and sounds of La Ramblas makes it an interesting walk anyway!
I agree on previous posts about the showerhead, it is quite ridiculous in design and pretty crap to be honest, but eventually gets the job done. We didn't notice ANY noise from the streets or the market whatsoever, with both doors and blinds closed we had great nights sleep.
Overall i'd definately stay here again on my next trip to Barca.

I selected this hotel based on all of the positive reviews here, however, I must disagree.
Positives: 1) The location couldn't get much better and is a perfect home base for the city. 2) We were fortunate enough to have a private deck overlooking the market. 3) Wireless access

Negatives: 1) There are no services, the workers do not help with luggage. They are not even familiar with the area and are not able to make restaurant recommendations or even give directions. 2) Cleaning staff does not thoroughly clean, and they don't even look outside on the patio to see if table/chairs need cleaning. 3) One of the worst showers I have ever experienced, it is basically a handheld wand that is supposed to remain suspended above if you'd like a traditional shower experience, however, it is faulty and the wand fell and hit my head while showering - this also happened to my husband.

It is also very loud from the street noise, this doesn't bother me but may be a concern to others.

I really don't know why people write so many good reviews about this hotel.
The good thing about it, it's that it right on the Rambla and if you're lucky enough, you might be given a room with a front view on the Rambla.
Other than that, i have many doubts about the cleanliness of the hotel.
We stayed there last week, having booked 2 rooms, for 6 days and not once had they changed our sheets or wiped the floor. The towels have a strange smell, and i suppose it was the only thing changed regularly. I think it's unacceptable for a 3* hotel, not to change sheets at all, for a 6 day stay.
The breakfast room is tiny and serves the guests from 7pm to 10 pm. We asked for butter at 9.50 pm and the waitress, obviously unhelpful, said it was finished. (!)
The other day we asked for cheese and she said the same thing. Then, tha lady from the reception desk came upstairs to the breakfast room and they had some kind of an argument i guess, because she wasn't serving the guests.
The staff at the reception is quite helpfull, but they are clueless about the the city and what to do where. They all replied the same thing, when asked for info. ''I'm not from here''.
Overall, i would definitelly not stay there again and since this was my third time in Barcelona, next time i will prefer booking in another area, Born for instance, instead of the noisy and dirty Ramblas.
Believe me, Barcelona has much more many attractive places to see and stay.

The hotel is situated right in the heart of La Ramblas and above/next to the open market, St. Josep's. The building has a classic exterior with awesome french-style doors that open onto the balconies and the interior is sleek & modern. It was quiet and peaceful inside but you could open the doors to garner the excitement from outside. Staff was excellent - made great recommendations and were very accommodating. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and will look for Eurostars hotels wherever I travel...

This place is certainly in excellent condition. The staff is very nice and the hotel is new and very clean. The location is very interesting though. Im sure you have heard of Las Ramblas, and it surely is very busy. The hotel is next door to the market and that is very busy too. Although I disagree with others, it is perfectly safe in my opinion. I went outside at 1 and 2 in the morning and there were many people with luggage even. Of course at that time, you will have to tolerate a few working girls. However, I will have to agree with others on the point of the sound issues. It is understandably loud at night as people stumble from the bars and then promptly at 6am when the market starts. That is of course if the faint low frequency rumbling metro doesnt wake you up first.
