Great hotel, great staff. Nicely decorated and clean room with a very nice view of the plaza and streets below. Well located with great restaurants nearby. Loved it and we would definitely stay here in the future.

Went to this fantastic hotel to celebrate my birthday with my daughter at the beginning of Sept. 1st time in Barcelona and absolutely loved it. Hotel is in a lovely area, a few minutes from the centre of the city but to be honest that was a good thing, it allowed us to wander around the area in peace and quiet, not so easy in the centre as it was very busy. The room was immaculate and had doors that opened onto the Avendia Diagonal (well I was on the 3rd floor so not directly onto it but above it). Lovely to be able to get fresh air in and I spent many a late night and early morning in a chair with the door open watching the world go by and reading. The surrounding area was friendly and had some very reasonable restaurants and café's where you could watch the world go by. The open top bus tour which is absolutely the best way to see the city if you have never been there before left just 5 mins walk from the hotel and at a reduced price if purchased there. The staff were brilliant, they could not have been more helpful. In short I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will be back.

Stayed here for 1 night pre cruise and 1 night post cruise and could not fault anything. We had booked a junior suite for both stays but on our post stay we were upgraded free of charge to a large corner suite. Both rooms were very spacious and immaculately clean. Showers were good and powerful with the second room also having a large corner bath. Breakfast at 12 euro pp is alittle on the expensive side but the choice is very good and all very fresh.

The location is on a very busy street but the double glazing means there is very little noise from the street. It is 20 mins walk to las ramblas which was fine for the warm days and balmy nights. There are many bars and restaurants within a very short walking distance.

I would reccoment this hotel for short and long stays and if ever we are in Barcelona again we will definately stay here.

A quiet, elegant, comfortable hotel beside the bustle and noise of the Diagonal - ten lanes of traffic and rush, but we couldn't hear a thing!

The building is a restored grand building. Nothing over the top, but easier on the eyes than some of the gothic confections or steel and glass structures nearby. The ground floor is occupied by a private bank, but the hotel entrance is marked by a pair of potted bushes and a discreet sign.

Once inside, the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. They speak English, but are happy to help with Spanish or Catalan phrases. Full of practical information bout the city. Gold.

The place is clean and tidy, bright and stylish. Contemporary paintings on the walls, the furniture is modern and sturdy, the lift works quickly and quietly. Well-signed, there are no problems finding the rooms.

Our room was available at noon, rose petals on the bed, a bottle of the local sparkling wine - cava - in the fridge. We took the flutes up to the terrace on the seventh floor and drank it as the sun went down on the hills behind the city. A sweet delight.

The bed was enormous, the room not so much, but still it was spacious compared to some. 605 - a high floor right on the corner of the wedge-shaped building. We had views of the Diagonal - wonderful views! - from the side and the big front window, and the other building looked onto the narrow street of apartments, a church and a design school. Full of life, both ways. We could see beyond, to the lower slopes of Montjuic, and at this height, the plane and palm trees along the pedestrian walks concealed most of the ten lanes of Diagonal traffic.

Furniture and fittings of the highest standard. Everything worked and was a joy to use. A huge amount of storage, a desk, two basins in the bathroom, two chairs, flatscreen tv, curtains that blocked out the light and the noise.

Breakfast included in our tariff. Local meats, fruit, cheeses, eggs and sausages. Pastries and cake for breakfast, juice, coffee and yogurt. And more. You won't go hungry!

After breakfast, the dining room is a self-serve cafeteria, tell the clerk what you had. A coffee and wifi for 1.5 Euro. Beats the Starbucks just up the street (on Carrer de Muntaner).

The district is full of shops and restaurants. Not so much of the touristy old town, this is where people live and work. It was a pleasure to promenade along the Diagonal with the locals. Plenty of room to stroll, but don't stray into the bike lane!

Five blocks to Paseig de Gracia, a grand avenue lined with high tone shops and restaurants. We ate at Samoa twice for the atmosphere, but really there are dozens of restaurants and tapas bars. Velodromo was closer and nicer, I thought - the locals ate there and our dinner one night was full of fun and great food.

The Metro is five blocks away, the tram a little further, but buy a five day ticket and use the bus - right outside the door, goes everywhere. The bus shelters have an easy to read route map.

We walked to Sagrada Familia. A kilometre or so - just follow the tourist stream!

Book online or arrive early to beat the queues. We turned up at 0930 and it was a long wait for us and no chance of the towers before lunch.

Barcelona itself is not a city to be exhausted in a week. Full of fantastic things to see and do. I love it!

Personal highlight - dinner at the Montjuic Xalet beside the Olympic diving pool with the incredible views. We went through another bottle of cava. It was an evening that fizzed with delight, and we were glad to come home to Wilson's Boutique. A haven in heaven.

Room Tip: Ask for the romantic package. The excellent breakfast is included, you get a bottle of cava, a bowl...

The hotel personnel were very courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to help. The price was very good. The location was good, close to the Hop On Hop Off Bus route and lots of good places to eat and have a drink. The setting is very nice along the Avinguda Diagonal. I recommend this hotel and I would gladly stay there again.

Excellent rooms size, cleanliness and amenities, comfy beds and cool air-con. Located on the Diagonal giving access to all the sights and easy to find. A bit of a walk to the metro, but buses outside are frequent. Stayed 4 days in September and loved it
