The positives of the hotel are that it is new, clean and the front desk staff are polite and speak good English. On the negative side the hotel is in a deprived run down area of Barcelona, with little to offer a tourist. The bedroom whilst clean and modern has a fluorescent light above the door which is on 24/7 (assume to laminate the escape route if required), but if you like a dark room you need eyeshades. Even if you do the main problem is not so easy to overcome, as the hotel is a few yards from a large student accommodation block, the students spent the whole hours of darkness shouting to each other incessantly.

Its rare to find a hotel room with adequate storage and closet space for international travelers. Plenty of room for our cases, toiletries and clothes - did not feel like we were living out of a suitcase. Great view of the mountains from our large room - but - be aware on the weekends there is a pub nearby and the noise goes into the wee hours. Earplugs required! Very quiet during the week. Good breakfast - good restaurants nearby and very close to the metro. Great english-speaking staff helped us book tourist activities.

Room Tip: If staying on weekends, ask for a room off the street.

Nice hotel, nice people but little service for a four star rated one.
Would be nice to have a bar or a coffee service downstair in
addition to breakfast.

We got the bus from Salou and got off in Cataloyna square and walked to the hotel. we walked every morning into town stopping for breakfast on the way. I would say it was one of the best hotels i have stayed in for many years..... the staff were friendly and done all that they could to help you. It takes about 20 minutes to walk into town ...

Room Tip: every room is of excellent quality !!!

Great hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. There was no kettle in the room when we got there, asked for 1 and it arrived immediately. The only downside to this hotel was the eggs and bacon at breakfast, yuck! The continental part of the a la carte was good though. The rooms were immaculate and the shower was fab.
There was a metro station around the corner from the hotel so it made getting aroud the city very easy. Recommend people to purchase a barcelona card prior to arriving in Barcelona. This even covered our train fair to the hotel on arrival and back to the airport again when we had to leave :-(
Don't eat on La Ramblas, much too expensive! (and not that good!!) Catch the metro down to the harbour, the restruants down there do the most amazing paella.
We found the old town the best for atmosphere. Lots of old buildings and unexpected squares with markets and such in them. Nice wine bars too, not too touristy! A lovely way to pass an afternoon.
I can't wait to go back to this fabulous city, and would stay in the hotel again.
