The apartment itself is quite nice and the location is good but as per the previous reviews Gabriel just makes the process more trouble than it is worth.
It appears that Gabriel has more than one apartment and he will decide at the 11th hour which one you are staying in. The location given on all of the booking sites is not where you will stay but somewhere close enough that it isn't a problem. He requires you to call him from the airport / bus station and he will tell you where you are going (like a mystery adventure but without the fun) so you then need to work out how to get to this newly listed address without wifi etc. I spent 40 minutes trying to locate the address on a map. When we arrived we walked up and down the three flights of stairs calling his name, ringing bells before a Russian lady came out and asked who I was. She found my name on a list and showed us to the apartment.
She then requested we pay the 3 nights' accommodation. I advised her that I had noticed my credit card had already been charged for the full amount (without my consent and despite the fact the booking website clearly stated my credit card would not be charged) along with a 5% additional credit card fee and an international transaction fee! She advised this is taken for security reasons and i needed to pay in cash and they would refund the deposit when I checked out including the international fee. I couldn't be bothered arguing that he has no right to charge my credit card without my approval and said I would wait until I could talk to Gabriel to resolve the issue. The staff don't speak any English.
Gabriel appeared on day 3 and confirmed all would be refunded when I checked out. I was pissed that I had 2/3 weeks of charges against my credit card and was without the use of those funds but let it go for the sake of enjoying my holiday. After I checked out, Gabriel did refund the 'security deposit' but i was left with the international fee of 10 euros which he said was an issue I would need to take up with my bank.

I think the apartment is very nice (although if you ignore the reviews like I did then don't book the shared bathroom room as it is revolting). There is a makeshift shower curtain in the bathroom which sticks to your body the whole time you shower. You have to remove the fixed floor planks of timber and insert a slatted floor each time you shower and it is just not worth it. I saw some of the private bathroom rooms and they look much nicer.
If you decide to chance it then the apartment is quite nice but Gabriel should not be a business owner and it made to experience more trouble than it was worth.
