After a week in Spain and a few days in Barcelona, I was in need of a change of palette pace (ham and arroz is great for 5 days). Alas it was thanksgiving, so as an ugly American was looking for turkey and stuffing. Which is why we ended up at dostrece - they promoted an american turkey day. That said, I'm muy allergico a las nueces, which I told our very cool and accomdating waiter, he researched and said that there may be some nuts in the prixe fix t-day menu. Which was a blessing in disguise. We ordered off the regular menu and had an unreal esalada de casa with 8 (8!) complements that were all amazing - tzaiki sauce, hummus, fried cauliflower, mushrooms, eggplant with queso, guac - all delicious, and an amazing mix. Pulpo carpaccio? Classic Spain in a whole new way that was the best octopus I had all week. Cool spot, cool and accommodating staff (with a sprinkle of hipster) and the best meal I had in Spain, all under 50 euros. Ps, around the corner from MACBA which also rules, if that's your sort of thing. Would def recommend over and over again.

This place is a hoot! Quirky and fun. Lots of locals but get there a little early and you can find a table. It's obviously a meeting place for couples but we liked the crazy interior - skulls, skeletons and religious figures. Food and drinks were good. Wait staff was friendly and helpful and spoke enough English to make suggestions...

Restaurant/pub with great, kinda alternative atmosphere, with friendly, nice staff and cool selection of music. Delicious breakfast sets with well-served coffee (our favourite was "cortado" served in little glasses). Fine bar. A warm, nice place to spend some time at day or night.

Happened on this restaurant just before midnight when our visit to a classical music concert ended and we had yet to eat dinner. A great find on a side street between Las Ramblas and St. Antonini area where we were staying.

We were by far the oldest couple in a late 20 to mid-30 place, but the waiters (both heavily tattooed and bushy haired) made us feel quite comfortable and the place was well runs and welcoming. Even better, the food was wonderful: chilled carrot soup, crispy wantons with mushroom pate, crispy puff pastry with goat cheese and a plum chutney. One of the best meals we had in Barcelona.
