Just across the street from Hotel Fira. This is a great place, cosy atmosphere and tasty tapas at a fun price. And boy o boy... their house liquor is heaven!

Lively and attractive restaurant. Service is outstanding and we ordered the 1kg t-bone (to share!!) which was served with hot plate to cook at table. Go hungry if you choose this but delicious - there's lots of choice including Tapas and mains. It's just round the corner from Fira Palace hotel (great place to stay) and we will go again when we next visit. Lovely typical Spanish restaurant, highly recommend.

This restaurant was just around the corner from our Hotel.
We tried the tapas, especially the mini hamburger was a treat!
The restaurant is quite busy and buzzing, mostly local people. The waiters are very friendly and speed is good. I think is has reasonable prices and good food.
Also try the Sangria with Cava

I visited with my wife and two adult sons having found this tapas restaurant through Trip Advisor. What a pleasant surprise to find it less than 100 meters from our hotel, Fira Palace. Our quest nearly failed as we hadn't booked and at 1400 on a Saturday we were nearly turned away. Whether it was my English accent, or the fact I was crying, they took pity on us and found a table. The experience began. The menu was extensive and some of it unusual. The draught Estrella was served cold and specially not carbonated. It was suprisingly smooth and pleasant to drink. Our glasses were never left empty. Our waiter was very attentive. He seemed to enjoy the fact that we were the only British in a restaurant packed with local people and he went out of his way to explain the dishes. We sampled many tapas and filled the next 2 hours 45 minutes enjoying each other's company and conversation complimented by fantastic food and drink. I will comment on two dishes because we ordered these twice. The beef cheek, rich, dark, melt in your mouth. Heaven. The other, a high quality mini burger made from Ox tail. Unusual but mouth watering. We left feeling very satisfied and contented. What a great way to spend a leisurely afternoon. Now for the Dream Theater bit. They were playing at the St Jordi Club that evening, hence the reason for our visit to Barcelona. They were absolutely awesome.

Best way to eat here in our opinion is to have a drink or two, study the menu and order a couple of dishes. Have some more drinks, if you are still hungry order another and so on. You will not have to wait for the food as service is lightning. Do not let the waiter choose for you or you may get the most expensive, less value items and less variety. See rest of our review…My wife and I visited Barcelona in January 2014 and stayed at the excellent Hotel Fira Palace in the Montjuic district. This location enabled us to walk to some very nice Tapas bars. We visited and have reviewed three, Bodega 1900, Lolita Taperia and Casa de Tapes Conota. We booked the latter Casa de Tapes Conota for the evening of my wife’s birthday hoping to make it a special meal. This was also our first Tapas in Barcelona so had not got accustomed to the experience, although we had enjoyed Tapas many times while in Spain. It seems that the experience in this restaurant is great if you want a quick meal and get out quick. Don’t make the mistake of ordering a bottle of wine(€18) as you will not have time to drink it! We called it the McDonalds of Tapas (fast food) with fine dining prices. The place has a cafe type of atmosphere lots of noise and bright lights, not unusual for a tapas bar. The menu is daunting with a huge choice but available in English, perhaps we should have spent more time reading it. I explained to the waiter however that we were not up to speed with the dishes and could he recommend. This is what we had bought to us; a box of fried seafood (Cajita Fritos €15.2) some small fish pieces, prawns, some fried squid and some fried octopus this was immediately followed by more fried octopus (Pulpo a Feria €10.5), this time with potatoes swimming in oil. Then came the beef (Tacos Salamilla €14.2) Tiny cubes of steak char grilled with some onion. Then at the same time a plate of suckling pig (Tacos de Cochinillo €14.6) was bought to the table. Now we had been in the restaurant less than 30 mins had been served three courses and a 4th was planted on the table. I asked the waiter to take it away and keep it hot as we wished to enjoy each course separately and we felt very rushed. This he did. As we ate our tiny cubes of steak (see picture) another waiter came to the table. He was Eastern European and spoke really good English. My wife (Birthday girl don’t forget and in the catering trade for some 30 odd years) was very upset at the service which was, it seemed virtually thrown at us. We then had a very long discussion with the very nice waiter who explained that this is how Tapas is served in Barcelona and they could see nothing wrong. We accepted this but asked to forget the pork as the appetite was gone. A while later all the waiters bought a very nice cake to the table and sung happy birthday to my wife, a nice touch. They did not charge us for the pork or the cake. So not to be swayed by the speed of service, what about the food? Well very ordinary as it happens nothing requiring any great preparation, so presentation was dull and no clever taste busting concoctions. The price was too expensive especially given the size of the portions and the whole dining experience. I revisited the menu and I suggest that a much more reasonable meal can be bought and if eaten with glasses of beer at €1.5 for a small glass you could have a great night on the beer ordering the occasional Tapas and have a fun night.
