“Excellent veal chops, grilled vegetables appetizer, wine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

We struggled to find a resaurant in Eixample or Gracia that would serve dinner before 8:30 or 9:00 and after walking a trying, discovered Can Farigola by accident. It is on a street with many cafes and bars, a bit further down. We had friendly attentive service although we were the first to arrive to eat dinner. We had excellent grilled vegetables as appetizer, grilled veal chops, and excellent white wine. Pricing was reasonable for such excellent cooking. We sat outside on the sidewalk cafe. By 10:00 the sidewalk was full of locals eating dinner, including a family w/ baby - an unusual sight for Canadian diners at 10 p.m.

“Dissapointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2012

We went to this place because I knew they had fondue and I haven't had that in a while, so we ordered meat fondue. Fortunately, we ate a salad beforehand because the fondue was very small for two people. The fondue was based on steak (not much), chicken, pork and something like sausage, not enough for two people plus the salsas they use are nothing special: mayo, ketchup, garlic and brava. We felt we paid way too much for that food (We used a "coupon" that only included fondue and drinks, I paid extra for the salad and it was way too much money at the end). The attention was ok, not much interaction though. I won't be back there. If you have a Groupon coupon you just wasted your money, sorry.

“A bit of a surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2012

This restaurant, food wise, was full of surprises. We went on a Saturday night, after being turned away from a couple of places. New wer’t sure about the look of the place, looked a bit run down, In fact the décor was not attractive, however there were Spanish people eating in there, which we thought might be a plus point. Food was excellent; I had a fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and my friend had an interesting concoction of cod cooked in honey and pinenuts, which was on one side an odd mix, but as she said “ actually works”. Great bottle of Rose wine here also. Worth a visit? Yes. Go again, probably. Had a rustic and local feel to it as oppose to somewhere modern. Staff were pleasant and not intrusive.
