Description: In 2000 ABaC Restaurant opened its doors in his first location, Carrer del Rec 79 in Barcelona. In May 2008 changed to his new address in Avenida Tibidabo, 1. The gastronomy is the fundamental axis of the project. The restaurant awarded with 2** Michelin, and nominated by The Best Restaurant 2011 in Catalonia by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy, can seat up to 56 diners. Located in the newly constructed pavilion in direct contact with the garden, the interior and the exterior are found through large windows. It is a caprice of whites, in all tones. In a calm, neutral and elegant atmosphere, the sense of sophistication is shaped by the small details and the materials used, as well as a sophisticated combination of lights. The kitchen of 200 m2 has been designed by Joaquim Casademont. It is a black container, in which stainless steel furniture takes all leadership, an effect that has been reinforced by the lighting, a route marked by leds serves as a guide and allows the guests to cross it. Rooms for private events with a capacity of 20 to 60 diners respectively, complete its restoration facilities. The "Lounge Bar", which opens until 2.00 p.m. and where the music, light and color of the room subtly change; There is also an extensive cellar, offering near 1000 references, and from which you can select your perfect wine. Chef Jordi Cruz and his team of young professionals develop a creative cusine of superb technique, based on the product and which meets both creativity and tradition. In addition, our attentive yet friendly service create a professional but relaxed atmosphere, which makes ABaC holder of 2** Michelin.

“what a wonderful experience”
Reviewed May 1, 2009

I booked this restaurant to celebrate my fiance's 50th birthday, the food and service was impeccable, and the setting beautiful, we had the taster menu which was worth every expensive penny. The only downside was the sommelier didnt bother with us as we only ordered one bottle of not very expensive wine.
Wonderful experience tho if you are visiting barcelona do visit .

“Expensive but still a fantastic experience”
Reviewed March 17, 2009

A romatic night at this reataurant will stay in your memory for a long time! We tried the winter menu which included 2 apertizers, 3 starters, 1 fish dish, 1 meat dish, pre-dessert and dessert. Everything tasted delicious and was presented in a way that made every dish look like a small piece of artwork. The somelier did a great job in finding us a terrific red wine and the staff in general were highly professional.

It`s a bit outside the city centre, so I recommend to take a taxi to get there

“Most exquisite meal in Barcelona”
Reviewed February 27, 2009

Simply sensational. One of the best meals of the last decade.
I had the tasting menu, and each dish flowed beautifully into the next, with superb plating and exceptional service complementing the outstanding fusion of subtle flavours. I was extremely fortunate in that the restaurant had a last-minute cancellation, as my hotel only rang at 10:00pm! Chef Pellicer was extremely gracious as I was introduced to him in the kitchen, and he can around at the end of the meal and chatted with me for about 10 minutes. Seafood was the main component of the meal (naturally, in Barcelona), but the lightness and elegance of each dish impressed me enormously.
Each plating was also a work of art, and the wine pairings worked beautifully. It would be a privilege to be able to return sometime.

“Partly cloudy”
Reviewed November 17, 2008

we were at the Abac reataurant in agroup of five. We all decided for the degustcion menu but one of our group has an allergy with fish. So we asked the maitre to avoid fish for one person. And he did not accept. Only after insiting he accepteed to ask the chef about this and at the end it worked. A pity. The menu was excellent, full of wonderful suprises, the somelier was great, very good wines for a reasonable price, the service was more than perfect. an extraordinary place..

“An Amazing and Unforgettable Dining Experience in Barcelona”
Reviewed September 23, 2008

Well, not enough can be said about this amazing restaurant. It is located in a great neighborhood about 15 minutes by taxi from the center of the city. From the moment you arrive you know that it will be great. The service and food are equally impressive. The chef, Xavier Pellicer is a truly gifted chef, and his recipes are simple and perfectly prepared using only the freshest ingreidents. The presentation was fantastic. The table service was like a symphony playing out in front of you, and even the placing and removal of plates and utensils seemed to sychronized. After this amazing meal, we were escorted to the lounge on the ground floor, a beautiful area that we would have been happy to travel to just for drinks. In the lounge we were served coffee and drinks, and then at the end of the evening received our bill. We had a chance to meet and spend time with Xavier, and also had a private tour of the boutique hotel that houses ABaC. The hotel is beautiful and we look forward to staying there on our next trip to Barcelona. If you want an amazing and unforgettable dining experience, please do not miss this gem!
