When visiting a foreign city for a few days, we have learned to ask hotel staff where they would recommend that we should eat - where they themselves would eat and, preferably, off the over-beaten tourist track. This was how we came across Pampero and we are glad we did.
Evening sittings began at 9 and it was still very quiet when we sat down to eat, though it did get much busier as the evening progressed.
Staff were great, putting up with our complete lack of Spanish with easy grace and happy to make suggestions about what we should choose - and we were NOT immediately guided to the most expensive items on the menu!!
The food throughout the meal was very good indeed and the steaks were some of the VERY best I have tasted anywhere - very tender, succulent and tasty; and when you ask for rare it comes rare!! The wine I had was good and, overall, prices were OK.
Each member of our family rated the restaurant and its food very highly indeed and, were we to revisit Barcelona we will doubtless seek it out again.
