“Very Nice, good service, good free breakfast"”
Reviewed June 11, 2010

This is a nice place if you like the narrow cobblestone streets. If you want to stay in El Raval neighborhood this is a good hotel. Free internet was much appreciated and somewhat rare. Right off La Ramla, which is a good and/or bad thing depending on what you're looking for. As a New Yorker, I found La Rambla to be like Times Square in the sense that it is overcrowded and touristy. I would avoid staying right there next time. I think next time I would stay in El Born. Hotel was clean, modern, and designy.

We stayed at this lovely small hatel for 4 days and if we are going to come to Barcelona againe we would gladly stay again.
Nice clean rooms, all furniture is new. Nice breacfast and the staff were very friendly and helpfull.
The location is perfect for tourists as its just nex to La Rambla, metro and walking distance to beach.
We had a great time there and would love to return.
Good value for the price we paid.

Ideal location, good base for exploring the city, decent rooms, okay breakfast, friendly staff, great value for money, spend the extra on another hotel if you have money to burn!

We stayed at the Hotel Curious for 3 nights and found it to be an almost perfect experience. The hotel is situated on a quiet street only a couple of minutes walk to the middle section of La Rambla and less than 5 minutes from the Liceu Metro station. Service was excellent and the manager and night staff were very helpful with providing us with any information we required. We were lucky enough to secure one of the larger rooms in the hotel which was extremely spacious and came with a big bathroom also. Rooms are decorated minimalist style (think IKEA style furniture as another reviewer mentioned) but they were very modern and clean. The beds were comfortable and we didn't hear much street noise despite the fact our room faced the street. The hotel also offers free wi-fi and there is a computer available for use in the lobby. About the only (albeit very minor) issue is that the breakfast could be of a slightly better quality (e.g. providing some fruit would be nice), but at least it was included in the room rate. This does not detract from our overall experience and I can confidently say that, for this price range, it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

This was my first night, of my first trip to Europe. The hotel was very cute and charming. The room was tiny, but well organized, so it didn't seem small. It was perfect for a quick layover for a solo traveler. The room was incredibly clean and nicely decorated.
The was a computer in the lobby for guest use, was a lovely touch.

We really liked the Hotel Curious. Ok its not luxuxry but its very nice and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into decorating this hotel and refurbishing the building.

I found it to be spotlessly clean and everything seems brand new. We found the staff to be very friendly, particularly the man who was on day shift at reception. He was always smiling and asking us if everything was ok. In fact the night shift receptionist was lovely too. You could tell that if you ever had a problem (which we didn't) then they would have done their utmost to sort it out for you.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet to sleep in at night. It wasn't huge but we had enough space. The bed was comfortable and the lighting and decor was good. The bathroom was very modern and clean. Good shower and good lighting. We had a small balcony which we never used but it was nice to open the doors to let fresh air in. We were travelling with another couple and their room was at the front. Their room was a lot bigger but they were disturbed very early in the morning with traffic outside. They had a balcony overlooking the street which was nice. The breakfast was pretty good. Everything you could want for a continental breakfast. Cereal, bread, yoghurts, juice, tea, coffee etc. The hotel also has free internet and this came in handy for us as we had to check the status of our flight due to the volcanic ash.

The location was great. Two minute walk to La Ramblas. Five minutes to Placa Catalunya and the Gothic district. We used the open top tour buses and found this to be an excellent way to see the city. Our nearest bus stop was close by at Placa Catalunya. We also walked down to to the harbour one evening too and its a nice stroll. There are a few little bars and shops around the hotel too. If I visit Barcelona again I would definitely book Hotel Curious.
