This hotel was good value however I would probably not stay here again. The room size was quite small, and the location whilst it was central was very noisy. I cannot fault the service of the hotel as the staff were very helpful and friendly. Ok if you are staying for a couple days but not ideal for long stays.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the street with a balcony. However be prepared for the large amount of noise th...

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for taking the time to write some nice words about Hotel Curious on TripAdvisor. Our guests' opinions are the most important for us, as they all make us improve in our daily work.

We would like to say that we have some rooms facing the street and some of them face the backyard. However, it is good to say also that all our rooms have double glass windows, so the noise is very slight. We can not avoid car horns, but in fact we do not have many complaints about this issue, as it is almost imperceptible.

Once again, thank you very much for your review and we look forward to welcoming you soon any other time!

Our best regards,

Artur Artigas

Very well located hotel within an easy 15 minute walk from Placa Catalunya. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very nice modern appearance in lobby and hallways. Breakfast buffet was adequate. Our room was spotless and with 90+ degrees outside during our 3 day stay the air conditioning worked well enough to keep our room reasonably cool. Our room was very small and furnishings were very spartan. We loved Barcelona and plan to return, but I would look at other properties before deciding where to stay. Hotel Curious would still be a good choice but perhaps we would be happier with a few more amenities.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your review on TripAdvisor about our place. We really appreciate that our guests share their opinions with other travellers of the World.

Hotel Curious is a small, cute and very friendly and familiar boutique hotel located at the very heart of the city. It is ideal for people visiting the city for some days and do not want to spend much time in transports inside the city. Our rooms are equipped with all the necessary things to have a pleasant stay in Barcelona: Amenities, TV, air conditioning, clean bathrooms... We are a cute small hotel with lovely rooms, Breakfast and WIFI included and 24h front desk. We take good care of our guests!

Thank you very much for trusting Hotel Curious for your last stay in Barcelona, and we hope to see you soon again any other time!

I recently stayed at Hotel Curious for 3 nights with a friend of mine last week. We arrived a bit early (around 11:00am), but were promptly checked in to our double room by a friendly gentleman at the front desk. The room was a decent size (a lot bigger than I expected), and VERY clean (the bathroom was SPOTLESS!) Everything in the room seemed new, and had a very modern and sleek feel to it. Wireless is great! Breakfast was decent but very basic. The reason I wouldn't stay here again is due to the following:
- Location. The hotel is literally 30 seconds away from Las Ramblas, which is pretty much the most touristy area in all of Barcelona. The street is EXTREMELY congested, smelly, dirty, noisy and full of pick pockets. It's also a 35 minute walk away from the closest beach (Barcelonetta), which is a long way if you want to go repetedly.
- Bad sleep quality. The beds are very uncomfortable. You feel every spring in the bed dig into your back when you lay down, and it makes a crunching/popping sound everytime you move or turn over. Also, the room is very warm (even with AC set to the lowest tempurature). Even though the hotel is on a small street off of Ramblas it is still VERY noisy at night (even with ear plugs!

Dear Guest,

First of all, thank you very much for your review on TripAdvsor. We regret you did not have a completely pleasant stay at our place, despite all the lovely words that you dedicate to our place! We are really thankful for them, but we do not share your opinion about our street. Carme Street is a very lively street which starts in Las Ramblas, full of shops and great restaurants, and all our guests share the same opinion: they liked our street as our reviews can corroborate. It is the old part of the city, so streets at Ciutat Vella can be a bit narrow, but always very safe. We do not really agree at all with words DIRTY or SMELLY. We are behind Boqueria's Market, so maybe you smelled some food from the famous market of Barcelona.

Regarding our beds, all our mattress are brand new, and we preferred them to be hard somehow instead of soft. Soft ones can be dangerous for the backs. Normally, people really appreciate this.

However, despite this, we really look forward to welcoming you soon again at any other time. You will see that we always give the best of us, as well as the best of Barcelona!

Our best regards,

This hotel is very well located just off Las Ramblas so good as a base for a weekend visit to Barcelona. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good. We stayed in a double and triple room as a family of five. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only reason that this hotel is 2 star is because it does not have many amenities but if you want a simple hotel then I would recommend this one. There is a car park within 2 minutes walk of the hotel and an underground station quite close. The free hotel WiFi was also very good.

We stayed for only one night before catching a cruise, but would have loved to stay longer. The location was wonderful, just steps from the main tourist areas but down a quaint quiet street. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the buffet breakfast had a nice selection.

I only stayed for 2 nights but wish it had been longer. The hotel is a short walk to Las Rambla, the Gothic district etc. The room was quiet and though small was well designed. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
