Everything negative I would have to say about this place is very easily outshone by it's excellent location on the outskirts of the Barri Gòtic (The Gothic Quarter). Excellent restaurants and bars are just around the corner on Carrer Ample, and more are to be found on the next blocks. The place is also on a short walking distance from the beaches of Barceloneta and the Port Vell marina.

Nearest metro stations Drassanes (on the southern end of La Rambla) and Jaume I (on the central Barri Gòtic) are also a short, about 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Because of the restaurants and bars located on nearby, you should expect a bit of noise from the street, but considerably less than if your hotel would be located nearer to the La Rambla.

The place itself is very, very basic. We booked a room with a shared shower, which were just down the hall. Because most rooms seemed to have their own showers, there was virtually no waiting to get to shower. I should note that one of the shared toilets was broken (it wouldn't flush) and there was washing gel for your hands in only one of the bathrooms.

There is no air conditioning so the room might get quite hot during the hottest summer months. During our visit in June it wasn't all that bad, and there was a small fan on the table that helps a bit by circulating the air in the room. Free wireless internet was available and worked perfectly. The bed was a bit on the squeaky side, but still comfortable enough to get a decent sleep.

All in all, you should consider booking this place if all you are looking for in a place to stay is a bed to sleep in. On the other hand, you will save some money and a lot of time because most of the Barcelona's best attractions are so easily accessible, many even just by foot in a few minutes. The staff on the reception were friendly and spoke good English.

Nice hotel in centre and near the sea. Simple but clean room, friendly personnel.
Bit noisy at night in the street.

I stayed in a basic single room for 3 nights. It was a good stay overall, no surprises. The room was small, no tv or air conditioning (beware if staying during summer). There was a sink in the room, and the shared bathroom was clean, functional and never tied up. The free wi-fi in the room worked great, and the man at the front desk spoke good english. The hotel is in a great location- in the old quarter of Barcelona surrounded by restaurants, shops and nightlife. I didn't have any noise issues, besides people in the hallways and outside being noisy sometimes. I can't fault the hotel for this- just people being inconsiderate. Cheap rates, but you get what you pay for. If you need a small simple room in a good location, this is it!

The location is excellent but no way that you can sleep with all the noise going on outside all night and early hours in the morning. The personnel is very nice. Accommodations, well, you get what you pay. I was suppose to spend 6 nights but after 2 nights sleepless I checked out.

If you are going to stay one night, FINE! But, there is no way that you will sleep.

Room Tip: I was supposed to get a room noiseless, but despite double doors, the noise is constant.
