I went to Abissinia on a Thursday evening, we were 6 people. We had booked before for 7 people, 8:30pm, but arrived at 6, at 8:45pm, and the waitress/owner was not happy about that at all, and let us know. Which is not very friendly.
Inside, it is very pretty, nice deco as previously said in other comments. It is not recommended for old people though, as the seats are very small stools, and after a while it gets tiring for the back and legs. A client even fell from his seat during the dinner.
I specially do not recommend to take the "group offer" that is basically a rip off. It is 20 euros per person, food as much as you want, 1 drink, 1 tea/coffee, 1 dessert, 1 chupito. So at first glance it looks ok, but here are my thoughts:
- the "normal" menu is at 12.50 euros, with either meet or vegetarian dishes. The portions look completely fine to me (checking with neighbour tables)
- the food makes you thirsty and usually one drink is not enough
- when you ask for repeating the food, they come with 1/8 of the previous dish, saying that usually people order but don't eat it all
The food in itself is great (not too spicy, for worried people), the tea delicious, I loved the "eating with your hands" experience and also that you share the dishes with your co-eaters. But the service was not friendly and this group offer is definitely not an option. Even if the service insists a lot on you taking that menu, resist!
